Joseph Bonsu, the Assembly Member of the Nkwantakese Electoral Area in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region, was reportedly killed by unknown assailants on Monday, 21st September 2026.
It is reporters that the deceased stepped out at around 3:30am to meet an individual who calmed to have an important information for him.
After waiting for a prolonged period, his wife followed his trail, only to discover him lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the Maase Hospital at Offinso, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

This tweet accidentally explains one of the deepest problems with Nigerian education.
We have confused early literacy with early intelligence.
A 5 year old kid reading and writing before everyone isnβt impressive. Childhood development is not a race to finish the ABC. Those early years should be about building curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, communication and independent thinking.
Let them build things. Draw nonsense. Play games. Solve puzzles. Ask annoying questions. Learn to disagree and explain why.
Then reading, writing and maths become tools for a mind that has already started learning how to THINK.
And Twitter is probably the funniest evidence of what happens when we get this backwards π
Every day you meet people here who can read and write beautifully. Big grammar sef.
But comprehension? Omo.

That is the tragedy.
Literacy is not the same thing as education. Being able to read is useless if you were never taught how to think.
Canada π¨π¦ thought my 5-year-old was special. Nigeria already prepared her.
One of my girls was 5 when we landed in Canada. In Nigeria, she would already have been in Primary 1. She could read and write simple sentences.
Her first months in a Canadian school shocked everyone. Not just because of her Nigerian accent. They were stunned she could actually read and write while her classmates were still learning letters and numbers.
She started winning awards. They made her read to the whole class.
As parents, we were not celebrating. We saw what was happening. They were slowing her down. Our biggest fear was that they would make her forget her maths.
So we did what many Nigerian parents abroad eventually do: we got a teacher from Nigeria and added IXL. Thank God we did. Years later, she is still ahead.
I still donβt understand why Canada waits until children are 5 before teaching letters and numbers.
Nigeria π³π¬ starts earlier. That early foundation is not βtoo much.β It is an advantage. Do not let a slower system erase what your child already has. Bring the standard with you.
