• 4 straight MVP top-10s, 1982-85
• During a 6-year peak from 1982-87, batted .289/.383/.531 (.913 OPS, 145 OPS+) and averaged 110 R, 173 H, 36 HR, 105 RBI, 18 SB, 90 BB, and 318 TB per season. Not per 162 games, but literally per season; Murph never played fewer than 159 games in a year during that span.
Despite being the most dominant player of the 1980s, Murph languished on the HOF ballot from 1999 to 2013, receiving between 8.5% and 23.2% of the vote during his 15 years of eligibility. An injustice!

Dale Murphy played in a #Braves' record 740 consecutive games from September 26, 1981, through July 8, 1986. He averaged 154 games played in a decade that included the 1981 season in which 55 games were lost due to a work stoppage.
No one in MLB played more games in the 1980s.
