The Broken U.K. The problem is that we’re building homes while migration keeps adding to housing demand. They’re slowly emptying the asylum hotels, but where is the government putting everyone? Moving people out of hotels doesn’t make the housing shortage disappear.

A bus stolen in Telford last night, driver beaten up. reportedly involving a migrant, while chaos unfolds and bystanders stand filming. This is the kind of incident that leaves people asking whether Britain has lost control of basic public order. The U.K is absolute dump.

Britain is rebuilding ammunition stocks, expanding defence production and now car-part factories want to switch to military equipment. The government calls it “warfighting readiness”. War isn’t certain, but Britain is clearly preparing for the possibility of one.

Britain wasn’t perfect in the past, but it often felt more settled. Stronger communities. Busier high streets. More pride in local areas. More neighbourliness. A greater sense that people belonged somewhere. There were problems too: poverty, inequality, poor working conditions, and plenty that needed changing. Modern Britain has gained a lot through technology, medicine, opportunity and social progress. But have we also lost something? Affordable homes. Community spirit. Pride in public spaces. Trust. Stability. A sense of belonging. Maybe the goal shouldn’t be to go backwards. Maybe it should be to bring the best of old Britain into the future.

On another note! Although a tragic outcome, police still had a duty to investigate the alleged Putney pusher properly. An arrest is not a conviction, and serious allegations cannot simply be ignored because an investigation is distressing. The IOPC should establish whether procedures were followed, but the Met should not be condemned before that review is complete.

Labour have been in government for over two years, and the justice system is still under severe pressure: overcrowded prisons, huge caseloads and warnings about capacity. Official figures put the prison population at 85,858 in June 2026, while the Government itself has said demand could still outstrip prison places. At some point, “we inherited it” stops being an answer. If Labour are in charge, fixing it is Labour’s responsibility. Law and order cannot be allowed to become another government failure.

Another Labour political earthquake. John Healey has appointed trade union boss Paul Nowak as a director of the Bank of England. So that’s the economy sorted then. Nothing to worry about. Put the kettle on.
