1. He was not joking. He never said he was joking. His tone in korean was a serious one, delivering it with half a smile to soften it.
2. He was not lying. He doesn’t need to, he doesn’t like the photo, it’s that simple.
3. It was a members wallpaper, was seokjin in the room? We don’t know if he liked that or told said member later he did not. Nonetheless, that is a member. Jin can excuse a member, but fans are different.
4. Members laughed, again, maybe they did not know the photo was bothering him.
5. Jin laughed once and that’s it. What do you expect? Should he give a bad reaction and ruin army’s experience? He knows army did not know his real feelings so he said it at the end of 3 days. Seokjin could have been okay with 1-2 posters, but it is a different experience seeing a stadium full of the same thing all 3 days, that could have gotten to him. Seokjin is allowed to like something then realize he actually doesn’t.
And this is NOT something against Argentina. Seokjin was smart enough to say this during live viewing translated thru multiple languages globally so ALL army can hear. This message was for EVERYONE. No country is saved from this, i have seen his military photo used by army globally.
He said this not because fans wanted to hurt his feelings, but for future reference, letting people know he actually doesn’t like it, so it’s time to let that photo go.

He wasn’t joking. He mentioned the photo not to laugh about it but to clarify how he feels about the photo being used for AI edits.
If you understand Korean, you can tell that his tone wasn’t a joking tone. He expressed in a subtle and casual way because he didn’t want to hurt the feelings of ARMYs who made that image. However, his message was clear. HE IS NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THAT PHOTO BEING TURNED INTO AI EDITED MEMES.
Yes, he bravely posted that photo himself to share with us the vulnerable yet important time of his life as an idol and as a person.
That photo represents Jin's courage, it is not public property to be used for jokes or fun memes by anyone, especially by his own fans.
HE HAS SPOKEN. DO NOT USE THAT PHOTO OF HIM TO MAKE AI EDITS. PERIOD.

This person turned Jin’s words into a joke and made a mockery of them. Then She insulted Koreans who told her to study Korean more. After that, she started insulting Jin fans. When people began reporting her account, she deleted all their posts and started making new posts using videos by cams, who is well known for being a Jin anti.

He wasn’t talking from the technological standpoint. He didn’t say ‘please hand edit instead of using AI.’ He said ‘use better photo’, which was the kindest way to say “don’t use that photo. Don’t turn that photo into an edited image or memes.”
So I don’t think it matters whether that image was hand edited or AI edited. That wasn’t the point. He just didn’t like the edited image using THAT photo.
