“Thousands of our children still must be brought back, and we count on broad international support to make it possible. Thank you to everybody who is helping.”

🫂 3.5 years apart.
A father in Ukrainian government-controlled territory. His wife and two children, aged 14 and 6, under Russian occupation.
For years, he searched for a way to bring them home.
Now, they’re finally together 💙💛
Here’s how 🧵👇

Through the Ukrainian President’s #BringKidsBack initiative, the Ukrainian Child Rights Network and Humanity Funds helped plan the route and coordinate their return.
After 3.5 years, the family was finally reunited 🫂

One family reunited. Two children home 🇺🇦
But many Ukrainian children are still under Russian control.
🔁 Repost this story. Keep the world’s attention on the children who still need to come home.

9 years old — forced to throw grenades at school.
13 — targeted by a Russian combat drone.
20 — repeatedly interrogated at checkpoints.
Last week, the @SaveukraineUs team rescued 23 children and teenagers from Russian occupation.
This became possible thanks to the support of partners within the President of Ukraine’s Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
Their stories need to be heard 🧵👇

Russian soldiers escorted her home at gunpoint to check her documents and repeatedly interrogated her at checkpoints.
At school, teachers brought in from Russia told students that Ukraine did not exist.
This is what occupation does to a childhood.

Today, all 23 are safe and beginning reintegration with psychological support, documents and shelter.
But hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian children remain under Russian control.
Share their stories. Keep the pressure on. Help us bring them home. 💙💛

Russia must return every child. Those responsible must face justice.

On 13 and 15 October, Ukraine’s parliament and Bring Kids Back UA continued expert meetings on children’s return, reintegration and accountability. The discussions covered individual support plans, documentation barriers and coordinated sanctions.

“Sanctions for crimes against Ukrainian children must remain high on the political agenda. Members of parliament can strengthen this work through parliamentary diplomacy.” — Vladyslav Vlasiuk
🇺🇦 Two friends. Years under Russian occupation. One shared goal: to return to Ukraine.
Liza* spent over a decade under Russian control. Her mother and brother remain in occupied territory.
Dasha* was forced to study under the Russian curriculum, facing propaganda, pressure, and intimidation.
Both girls experienced forced passportization. Without occupation-issued and Russian passports, they were denied school certificates.
Their education was also shaped by Russia’s systematic indoctrination: mandatory propaganda lessons, the Russian anthem, and recruitment into Kremlin-backed youth movements, including Yunarmiya.
Despite years of pressure, Liza and Dasha refused to give up on their future in Ukraine. They decided to leave together.
Today, both are back on Ukrainian government-controlled territory.
Their return was made possible through the Ukrainian President’s Bring Kids Back UA initiative, with the support of the Ukrainian Child Rights Network.
The return was supported by Germany through the JOFU project, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
Every return matters. Every child deserves a future free from Russian control.
