Amit Soussana, 40, was held alone in a house in Gaza, chained by the
ankles.
This is what she said about what it is to be assaulted while still in the room with the man who did it:
"In a 'normal case' after a sexual assault, you go home. You shower. You cry.
But there, you have to... you're still there. You can't shower. You can't cry. Crying is forbidden.
And, there is no one to comfort you.
You have to face it all alone. And not only that, you also have to be nice to him."

Chained by the ankles in a stranger's house in Gaza, with nothing left, she fought over her own name.
Her name is Amit Soussana.
Her captor decided to rename her.
"One day he decided that he wanted to call me 'Samira.' I told him,
'No, no! My name is Amit. I am Amit.'"
"It felt like he was trying to take away my identity, the only thing I still had left, and I refused to let him."

Malki was 15.
She helped care for her younger sister, who had severe disabilities, and volunteered with disabled children.
Two days before her death, she came home from a summer camp where she was a counselor.

On August 9, 2001, Malki went for pizza with a friend at Sbarro, on one of the busiest corners in Jerusalem.
A suicide bomber walked in.
15 people were killed, 7 of them children.
Malki was one of them.
