Is Paxlovid Still Worth It?
Upshot: at current prices, typical return on investment threshold analysis would say NO for most patients (even most who are eligible based on CDC recs).
Likely still worth it for some high risk groups, though.

I work in an ER at a receiving hospital for one of the most prestigious oncology centers in the known universe.
So yeah, even though it isn’t currently required to wear a mask at work (based on some metric), I do it anyway.
I like keeping my patients as safe as possible.

I often think of Dr. Kevin Menes, an ER doctor in Las Vegas who perhaps saved more lives in a night than any ER doctor ever. Menes +team treated 215 victims, leading to 67 surgeries in 24 hours. They treated ~30 gunshot wound patients per hour for 7 hours.
