What a wonderful one-year book birthday gift for my YA novel, THE TRUTH ABOUT EVERYTHING! The silver medal in the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards for YA-Mature Issues.
Had I not spent over a decade working with the Montana Migrant Education program, I likely wouldn't have known how much of our food is harvested by people on their knees. Thank you, farm workers, for all you do for our families, schools, and communities.

Radishes take 3-4 weeks from seed to harvest, longer in cooler temperatures. High quality hand harvested radishes are a labor intensive crop as Patricia demonstrates here. (Patricia’s skill, accuracy and speed is incredibly respected by her peers.)
I actually loved middle school (high school is where things got tough) but I know it can be a challenge for many young readers. Hope they find some comfort in these amazing titles (including mine!)
