Amber O’Brien, 33, pregnant with twins, was found dead in a Blackley flat after more than 60 stab wounds (32 to her face and neck). Days earlier she told a hospital nurse her partner would kill her if she went back.
She contacted a termination service citing domestic violence, reported concerns to police, and completed a DASH risk assessment.
Prosecutors say partner Stephan Garner (31) attacked her, then spent a day and a half stripping her body, washing it, bleaching the flat, bagging clothes, and destroying phones before police forced entry.
He has pleaded guilty to manslaughter but denies murder; the trial is ongoing.

These are the same MPs who lecture the country about how seriously they supposedly take the safety of women and girls...
Yet when a debate comes along that directly affects it, and they have the chance to listen to what their own plans are actually doing to communities like Piddington, they're gone.
If this is what serious looks like, women have every reason to worry.
We are the ones that have to live with the consequences of their decisions every single day. We can't just get up and leave when it gets uncomfortable.
Labour are the ones running the country right now (debatable), and if they can't or won't stay in the room for women, women will remember that at the ballot box…
We deserve better.
