BEFORE YOU CRITICISE MAN CITY’S OWNERS… TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT THEY’VE ACTUALLY DONE.
Sheikh Mansour’s involvement in Manchester has gone far beyond what happens on a football pitch.
- Major investment in Barclays during the financial crisis
- Huge investment and regeneration across East Manchester
- Thousands of new homes
- A key role in bringing the £365M Co-op Live arena to the city
- New hotels and commercial developments
- Thousands of jobs linked to major investment
- And, of course, the transformation of Manchester City into a global football powerhouse.
-They have brought a lot of investment to the UK
But before writing off Manchester City’s owners…
LOOK AT THE BIGGER PICTURE.
Their impact on Manchester extends far beyond the Etihad.

Recently issued Home Office guidance that states permission is needed to photograph people in public is incorrect and harmful. There is no legal requirement to seek permission when photographing in public. The BPPA hopes an immediate correction will be issued.
Just finished editing this slide film photograph of the old lock keeper's cottage in Ancoats, captured in 1996. Standing beside the historic Ashton Canal, this modest building is a rare survivor from Manchester's canal age.
I captured a group of barbers from Manchester's fashionable Northern Quarter as they strolled around the site of the former Ancoats Retail Park in 2022. This area of land is scheduled to be transformed into Andy Burnham's No.10 No #10North #Ancoats #NQ #AndyBurnham

A Hall truly open to the whole community.
