As with most things open source: Your wins come with silence, and you suffer losses in spectacular public fashion.
Same problem. Different year. @SouthwestAir sure would be nice to see progress here.
Come on man. 100% of my flights on SWA in the past weeks have had non useable WiFi.
Inversely 100% of my non SWA flights in the same time have had blazing fast connection.
I fly a lot. Mostly on SWA.
Time is money. Not being able to work is very expensive.

One tool. 7 days. 227 million Maven Central POM downloads — for 22,071 distinct files. That's a 10,000:1 redundancy ratio. "Free" infrastructure isn't free.
Replying to @AquaTrivy
@AquaTrivy @AquaSecTeam we need to talk about your use of Maven Central. It's egregious.
The silence is deafening here.

First flight with @SouthwestAir free WiFi. Good thing it’s free, the login page never loaded.
Multiple devices, browsers, reboot. Totally broken.
Free isn’t free: the infrastructure behind open source has real costs, and it’s time we aligned usage with responsibility.
This morning we jointly launch a new blog and open letter on sustainable stewardship.

Day 3. No fix.

After 6 hours with Artifactory: I can't pull the artifacts that I just pushed, and I can't do anything at all except on localhost.
After 2 hours with Nexus: Everything works from everywhere.
Welp, I guess I'm using Nexus.

It’s a wrap on AllDayDevOps’ 24 hours of live-streamed content hosted by Sonatype! The good news is that all sessions are now available on demand.
I had the privilege of joining three fantastic panels of experts to explore the recent "trifecta" of research into open source usage, security, and maintainers.
First, in the keynote session, A Decade of Transformation: Unveiling the 10th Annual State of the Software Supply Chain Report, I teamed up with Jonathan Meadows of Citi, Christopher Robinson from OpenSSF, and Georg Link, PhD of CHAOSS to dive into this year’s findings and discuss their far-reaching implications for the ecosystem and enterprises alike.
Next, in Open Source in Financial Services: Balancing Innovation and Security in a Highly Regulated Industry, I was joined by Tosha Ellison from FINOS. We explored the key takeaways from their latest report and how greater collaboration within the financial sector is improving security for all of us (since, after all, we’re all customers of banks).
Finally, Donald Fischer from Tidelift and I compared notes in Open Source Workforce: The State of Maintainers, where we delved into recent data from an open source maintainer’s perspective, highlighting a path toward better outcomes for projects and their users.
You can catch these sessions, along with hundreds more, on-demand at
