I've long been in favor of Trump's wall. I just want to make it out of fieldstone and run it from Montreal to New York City.
Ben Affleck once yelled at me and called me sleazy when he saw me filming him getting a golf lesson at McGolf. A few days later, @universalhub reported that movie (Company Men) producers were looking for a body double who could golf to stand in for him. universalhub.com/node/25429
Tell me the strangest interaction you've had with a celebrity.
I once watched season 2 of The Office on DVD and then wrote a paper applying the client’s findings to Dunder Mifflin. Colleagues were walking past my door looking ticked because they knew I was in there watching TV.
What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever billed a client for? When I was a BigLaw associate, my firm sued a video game company for copyright infringement. I was the only gamer on the team, so I billed 40+ hours to play the video game and identify its infringing content.
Today's bonus fun fact: The original settlers of Dedham wanted to call the town Contentment, but Ye Olde Royal Authorities wouldn't let them

Everybody can get the vaccine regardless of their ability to pay because it serves the common good to vaccinate people. Now let’s figure out how to do this with mental health care, preventative health care, palliative care, and, well, just all the health care.

One Halloween in high school I rode home on the hood a friend's car. The driver is now a police offer. The stupid things we say and do at 17 should not define us, or haunt us, for the rest of our lives. Repent. Make amends. Grow. nytimes.com/2021/03/18/busin…
He seems very aggrieved that, while engaged in an attempted coup d’etat against the United States government, he literally got blood on his hands. Lady MacBeth has got nothing on this guy.

I am wicked upset that @linorulli has made Bob Dylan’s version of Hark the Herald Angels Sing one of my favorite Christmas Carols.
Growing up, my Muslim family never celebrated Christmas. This year I am not going home, because pandemic, so my roommates are teaching me how to have my first proper Christmas. I am approaching this with anthropological precision. Here are a few observations.

At the end of their lives, two old Boston Brahmin ladies were talking. The first one asked: “Have you ever traveled?” “Why would I travel,” the second replied, “when I am already here?”
If you could move anywhere else in the United States without diminishing your quality of life, where would you move?

If 2020 was an article at Town Meeting, it would be about the Rail Trail. #dedhamvotes

I’ll say this about Zoom town meeting: my recliner is a lot more comfortable than the Dunn Auditorium. #dedhamvotes

41 minutes into Town Meeting and we finally get going to the business of the meeting. Zoom is a whole new world. #dedhamvotes
What a thread. I live just five blocks from the man who organized the relief effort. Every year it blows me away both how bad the damage was and how quick and immense our response was. Makes me proud to be from Massachusetts.

“Charity is no substitute for justice withheld.” ⁦@ebruenig⁩ hits the nail on the head regarding medical debt. There is no excuse for people going hungry or bankrupt just because they needed medical care. nytimes.com/2020/11/27/opini…

I thought driving to Monroe, North Carolina to volunteer as a vote protector was a lot, but this guy beat me by a few states.
