"Please pray with us for Russia’s every effort for evil to fail; for Russians to leave Ukraine today; for an immediate ceasefire and a just peace."
If you're wondering how to pray, this came from one of our faculty and a missionary currently living in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Republicans take note:
Closing border - Good
Showboat roundups - Not good
Tax breaks - Good
Tariffs and trade wars - Not good
Eliminating nuclear threat - Good
MOU purgatory - Not good
Taking on cartels - Good
Kissing ass of Xi and Putin - Not good
Kicking ass with allies - Good
Alienating allies - Not good
Taking red dye out of food - Good
Allowing measles to return - Not good
Removing Maduro - Good
Making Canada an enemy - Not good
So many own goals to ruin otherwise winning strategies. Mostly the protectionist and isolationist ones.

Republican leaders, you sold your souls to Trump for NOTHING.
You gave up decency/morality AND gave up electibility.
Now is the time to fully course correct and excise the Trumpist cancer from the GOP.

Komyshuvakha, Ukraine.
Russia simply dropped an aerial bomb on a local school where people had gathered to receive humanitarian aid. And when they went to a shelter, Russia dropped another NINE (!!!) glide bombs on it.
The result: at least 24 people killed, including at least two rescue workers who had arrived to help the victims.
Someone please explain to me how this is anything other than yet another blatant act of genocide committed by Russia against Ukrainians.

As I’ve been saying since 2014, if you think defending Ukraine is expensive, Russia winning would be exponentially more so.
JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon warns a Russian victory in Ukraine could shatter global alliances, reshape the world economy, and force nations to question whether they can still rely on America. 🇺🇸
Asked what a Russian victory in Ukraine would mean for the global economy, Dimon responded:
“It could be a potential disaster.
This is the first war in Europe where a free, democratic nation was invaded by 200,000 or 300,000 Russian soldiers under the threat of nuclear blackmail.
We’ve never had nuclear blackmail before.
You’re also teaching the whole world that maybe having nuclear weapons is a pretty good thing, because people will be afraid of you, and you can abuse a neighbor if you feel like it.
Russia would be on the border of NATO. Obviously, NATO is rearming right now.
But the other thing is, it’s affecting all alliances, military alliances and global economic alliances.
And the nexus of Iran, North Korea, and China makes it very hard, in my view, for the Chinese-American relationship.
China says they’re neutral, but they’re helping. We are clearly not neutral.
If Russia wins, you might see a lot of people deciding: Will America stand up for Europe? Can you rely on them? And if you can’t rely on them, what are you going to do?
That includes economically.
Every nation is going to say, what makes me secure? Energy, food, all the things I need.
I’m worried that if Russia wins, you could see the world enter a little bit of chaos as people realign alliances and economic relationships.”

Russians invaded Ukraine because they were imminently threatened by the idea of Ukraine joining an organization that would make it harder for them to invade Ukraine.
For real. But it’s not even just liberals, so many people on the left do this as well. Honestly, Russia is a huge litmus test for me. The whole situation is way more complicated than just regurgitating the establishment line of 'Russia bad' without looking at the broader context, and you cannot understand the crisis without looking at decades of NATO expansion. Like, are we actually analysing the world through a lens of global power structures, or are you just repeating what you see on the mainstream news?

Unpopular opinion:
Ukraine has done more to weaken Russia's army than NATO did in 30 years.

It's hilarious how Western Russia apologists keep on insisting this is all about NATO and then Putin just goes out and says "no actually we're imperialist" on a regular basis.
Putin on Ukraine:
The lands lost by Kyiv are not "their territory"; they are historically Russian lands.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Kyiv predates Moscow by centuries, and southern/eastern Ukraine was ruled by the Cossack Hetmanate and Crimean Khanate long before 18th-century Russian Imperial annexation. In 1991, every Ukrainian region voted overwhelmingly for independence, recognized by Russia 1994.

This whole two-year-long idiocy of endlessly arguing over who “wants peace” and who “doesn’t want peace” in Russia’s war of aggression aimed at annihilating Ukraine is officially the single stupidest thing ever to happen in the entire history of international relations and world diplomacy.

"Zelensky is suddenly talking about ending the war"
Jack, you have no clue what you are talking about. Here are NINE deals Ukraine has agreed to that Russia has rejected since 03/2025.
Ukraine said YES. Russia said NO.
1. Mar 11, 2025, Jeddah (US plan)
30-day ceasefire on land, sea and air.
Ukraine: accepted. Russia: "in principle," then demanded a halt to Western arms and Ukraine's mobilization first.
2. Mar 25, 2025, Black Sea truce
Safe shipping in the Black Sea.
Ukraine: agreed. Russia: tied it to lifting sanctions on its farm bank.
3. Apr 2025, no strikes on civilians
Both sides stop hitting civilian targets.
Ukraine: proposed. Russia: ignored it and declared a 30-hour Easter truce on its own.
4. May 12, 2025, Kyiv summit
30-day unconditional ceasefire, backed by France, UK, Germany and Poland.
Ukraine: accepted. Russia: refused and offered talks instead.
5. May–Jun 2025, Istanbul
30+ day ceasefire, a leaders' meeting, all-for-all prisoner swap.
Russia: offered a 2–3 day pause, or a ceasefire only if Ukraine gave up four regions.
6. Aug 2025, before the Alaska summit
Freeze the front line, then negotiate.
Ukraine and Europe: backed it. Russia: rejected it.
7. Late 2025 to Feb 2026, the 20-point US framework
Freeze the lines, security guarantees, limits on Ukraine's army.
Ukraine: helped write it, called it "90% ready." Lavrov: "a document no one gave us."
8. Oct 11–12, 2026, 60-day election ceasefire and energy truce
Ukraine: proposed the 60 days and accepted the energy truce.
Kremlin: "We do not want a ceasefire." Russia hit six Ukrainian energy sites the next day.
9. Sep 23, 2026: 51 UN member states said Ukraine had agreed to an unconditional ceasefire and called on Russia to do the same. Russia still hasn't.

In case it wasn’t already obvious: being nice to Putin hasn’t achieved peace. And it never will.
Luckily there is at least one easy option that stops Russia’s ballistic missiles from killing civilians and destroying power grids. Starlink.
Ukrainian drones can destroy the launchers, but need access to Starlink over Russian territory to navigate effectively.
This would cost American taxpayers nothing. It would save lives. And it would put real pressure on Putin.

Based on what I'm reading on here, the United States should have surrendered in the fall of 1776. There was no victory in sight, the British Army seemed unstoppable. Young men were needlessly dying in a war the US could never win.

Trump has given Putin concession after concession -- ending aid to Ukraine, keeping Ukraine out of NATO, celebrating Putin with a red carpet summit, dissing Zelenskyy, wavering sanctions, disrupting intelligence sharing with Ukraine -- and Putin has never changed his position on continuing the war. Not one inch.
