Love your cynicism! So fucking human! Love your support for iniquities! Show me where it says "empathy instead of math."
Replying to @owl_elc
2/Well let's start by "centering love and human connections," and making them "take precedence" over knowledge and skills. Who needs math and reading when you have "empathy?!"

rewater the Erie Canal between Franklin and Montgomery Streets, and I guarantee people would paddleboard on it
“Restorative spaces” allow us to move our bodies, calm our minds, and enjoy the therapeutic effects of being immersed in nature. Stressful, asphalt- and car-dominated cities lack these opportunities to maintain mental health, and are likely worsening it. issuu.com/apatransport/docs/…

Not all kids can afford to go to camp. Last year, @juwanhoward and I envisioned a solution. Let's bring camp to them. It all starts today.Powerless Kids Need Powerful Friends If Not Us Then Who?

...first, let's start with blacksmithing, since this is specifically what DeSantis mentioned yesterday. This, more than anything, underscores the brutal ignorance of the GOP on history, and their apparent belief that Africans arrived here as ignorant, incompetent savages.../2

Interesting concept. Hard seltzer (4% abv) made with whey. The lactobacillus makes a sour taste, similar to sour beer.

I drank raw milk from the farm growing up, so to put this against antivax idiots is weird. Still, the graph is overwhelming in its purpose.

Fuck the naysayers. Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Cortland, Auburn, Ithaca, Utica… we will go downtown if there’s a reason and we will go for our own reasons. #UpstateLives
9 nights of Jazz. No issues. Tens of thousands downtown. It’s gotta drive the one local radio guy (and a few of his fellow complainers) nuts that that all these folks came downtown despite their growing insistence that no one wants to go downtown.

SCOTUS is a court of jesters. Illegitimate and ignorant both. Only Republicans can fuck up this royally, though the Dems are barely ahead in that area.

I put this out into the world not knowing if it would mean anything to anybody but myself. It’s gratifying to know people still read Exley.
Ran into a pal today, after a year, last time we meet he said did you ever read A Fan’s Notes. Since then I did. Truly remarkable book. Spent an hour yammering on about it. @BrewCuse has a good piece here. A Fan's Journey For Fred Exley exploringupstate.com/a-fans-… via @explrupstate

Q: How did you get cast on the show? “I went to the Pat Moran Casting Agency, the first thing I did with her was Homicide. I did a three part episode and I did The Corner. I went back to New York, and then I got a call from Pat about a new show called The Wire that is going to be filmed in Baltimore and they were interested in seeing me. So I came down and auditioned for Prop Joe. I am sitting in the office with all the other actors and I’m looking around and all these guys are like super models. You know jackets and ties and hair neatly trimmed and leather shoes. I’m like, “Am I in the right audition?” I had a sweat suit on, I’m a big guy, I looked nothing like these guys. Then the next day they said I had the part. A month later I found out that Prop Joe was a real person and that he was handsome and debonair and a ladies man. That explains the other actors, how I got this part, I’ll never know.” -Robert Chew (RIP) #PropJoe #TheWire thefader.com/2006/12/06/list…
