Justice is about more than deciding cases. It's also about making our legal system more accessible to the people it serves. I’ve worked with judges, lawyers, and community leaders across Texas to make legal help more affordable and available and to make our courts more accessible and efficient. It's part of my broader commitment to making our justice system work better for every Texan. Learn more at BrettBusby.com.

Much of my legal career and judicial service has been rooted in Houston. I have great respect for the officers who take on difficult responsibilities in service to the city each day. I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the @HPOUTX and appreciate its support for my re-election to the Supreme Court of Texas.

“We recommend Busby in large part because he goes beyond lip service to expanding access to people who can’t afford lawyers.” Expanding access to justice has been a central part of my work on the Supreme Court of Texas. I’m proud to have once again earned the endorsement of the @HoustonChron Editorial Board for my re-election to Place 8. Read the full endorsement: houstonchronicle.com/opinion…

Public service doesn't end when the courtroom empties. I believe in doing more to give back to my fellow Texans. As a lawyer, I provided hundreds of hours of free legal aid. As a judge, I lead statewide efforts to help more Texans receive the legal assistance they need. That commitment to service has guided me throughout my 28-year career as a lawyer and judge.

The Houston Bar Association’s 2026 Judicial Preference Poll results are in, and I’m honored to have received the most votes of any appellate judicial candidate in any race, including 69% of the votes in my race for Supreme Court Place 8! Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate. I’m proud of the record I’ve built on the Supreme Court and grateful for the confidence this result reflects. I’ll continue working hard to give every party a fair hearing and apply the law faithfully.

Every Texan deserves confidence that their case will be heard fairly and decided impartially according to the law. Throughout my 14 years on the bench, I’ve approached every case with hard work, steady judgment, and an unwavering commitment to the rule of law. That's the kind of leadership I believe Texans deserve on the Supreme Court of Texas.

Earning the confidence of those who know our courts best isn't about politics. It's about building a record of listening fairly, preparing diligently, and applying the law impartially. Every Republican and Democrat in the Texas Senate voted to confirm me to the Supreme Court of Texas, and Texans later elected me statewide by more than one million votes. I’m asking you to join them by supporting my re-election. Learn more about my background and record at BrettBusby.com.

It was a pleasure to speak on a panel for the American Law Institute’s member reception @UHLAW. We celebrated the selection of former Texas Chief Justice Wallace Jefferson as ALI President and discussed the Institute’s important work providing thorough and rigorous scholarship as a resource for the bench and bar nationwide. Thanks to the incomparable Judge Lee Rosenthal for moderating and to Dean Leonard Baynes for hosting us. I’m looking forward to the ALI annual meeting in Houston next May.

Experience matters because every decision matters. Throughout my time on the bench, I've worked to approach every case the same way: carefully study the law, listen to every argument, and decide each case according to the law and the facts. That responsibility has guided me throughout my 14 years on the bench, and I'd be honored to continue serving the people of Texas.
