I know everyone is complaining about the wellington CBD. But out here in Island Bay we seem to have doubled the number of cafes and been steadily improving if anything. (Also people are staying home enough that it's now worth asking if people live nearby and just meeting here)
I went on one of those(we were doing some work for the Vanuatu government at the time). I am apparently now officially a "C-list" business leader. I wonder if I can get a certificate.
NZ PM Luxon calls business leaders on Labour-led delegations as “tagalongs” and “C-List”. Scoop from @Jasonwalls92
The most kiwi thing in the world - almost certainly secure a spot in the semi-finals and the article everyone wants to read is the thing you did wrong.

The start of a new era! Data for the NZSL Online Dictionary is now stored in NZSL Signbank. The original Signbank tool, developed for Auslan, now has many spinoffs - see github.com/Signbank . The NZSL Signbank was adapted for us by @ackama - thank you!

I want a play by play of what @RobertIger does over the next 4 weeks far more than I want all these twitter discussions. There's so much nuance tied up in making Disney work.

I think I learned more about different approaches to self-driving cars and taxis from this single HN comment news.ycombinator.com/item?id… than any single article on the topic.
A good reminder of why the ruby community is so nice was having @yukihiro_matz dial into our friday drinks for a bit. I'm not sure he expected to be asked questions about steps to post-covid communtiy and the ethics of AI in our 'casual conversation', but was great.
Have we, as a society, forgotten that we can make caramel flavoured things without salting them? Even the Primo caramel milk is salted.
Very happy about the part Ackama played in building the platforms to make this possible and seeing everyone's efforts come together.

Last year I welcomed my first child Finlay. He's doing well now but the journey getting there included 17 weeks in hospital(my partner for 10 and then Finlay for 7). I've written up some of the experience - breccan.com/2021/02/the-coun…
