Marvin was a finished fighter. Got everything out if his ability. Athletic WITHIN his style. No a defensive cutie but competent defensively. Great jab. Excellent puncher. Great finisher. Great chin. No glaring weaknesses.
I got chills. If there is anyone in boxing I would like to meet and talk to for a few hours. It's Mike Tyson. This dude is loaded with knowledge.

After Ali lost to Larry Holmes in 1980, Tyson said Ali called him the next morning.
Ali was emotional. Tyson promised him: “When I get big, I’m going to get him for you. I’m going to restore your honor.”
Eight years later, Ali walked over to Tyson before the Holmes fight.
“Get him for me.”
Tyson did exactly that.

Oscar De La Hoya fought 5x in 1997. If just one of these elite current A side fighters demanded that they fight 3x in a calendar year. It would change the status quo of the current era. There is no short cut to TRUE greatness.
Chavez. Duran sort of walked you down and beat you up in explosive burst. Chavez often put you in a corner or on the ropes and kept you there. Different application.

Promoters in this era will sign a fighter they think is more marketable over a fighter they think is more talented. Then they have BOX out the more talented fighter with politics to keep them away from the so called more marketable fighter. Just sign the dam TALENT!!
Top 10 WIN of the 80s and that's not an easy top 10 to make considering Sanchez W Gomez, Duran W Leonard, Leonard W Hearns, Leonard W Hagler, Hagler W Hearns etc. This win sits right in the middle of THAT.
This was a weird fight. Bruno was winning almost every round. But man Lennox was clutch. He came through. However, this fight made me think Bowe should've taken the smoke. But guess what you can't win a fight you don't TAKE.

The final knockout hides just how much trouble Lennox was actually in.
This was the first world heavyweight title fight between two British-born fighters. Lewis was 23-0 and a 4-1 favorite. Bruno was on his third title shot.
Frank was boxing out of his skin early, popping a heavy jab and backing Lewis up against the ropes.
After six rounds: 57-57, 57-57, 59-55 Bruno.
Then Lewis found the left hook in the seventh and changed the whole fight.
The finish was sudden. The fight wasn’t.
