The BBC's gripping PoW drama #Colditz began #OTD in 1972. Its abiding triumph was the episode Tweedledum, with Michael Bryant as the Brit feigning madness to escape (his plan proves too effective) and Bernard Kay a German with a personal connection. Both are superb. @RadioTimes
String theory...
Tomorrow's World presenter Raymond Baxter gamely guest-starred in It Might as Well Be String, an episode of The Goodies first broadcast #OTD 50 years ago. Photo taken on 18 June 1976 by Don Smith for @RadioTimes.

The Goodies used some left-field methods to train a horse โ a pantomime horse โ to run the National, in this week 50 years ago. @RadioTimes
Gemini Man starring Ben "Kid Curry" Murphy was introduced by a pilot episode #OTD 50 years ago. I loved all these pulp US imports as a kid, but this one only ran for one series. Before disappearing. @RadioTimes
