can any yankees fans explain why they want Boone gone for any reason other than “we just need to shake things up” because he isn’t bad?

I love debating people about sports, and this app is one of the places I do that.
One thing I dislike about this app is the amount of people who simply resort to cursing you out, calling you any sort of slurs, and insult your intelligence simply for disagreeing.

Rubenstein made billions in private equity and by his own admission watched his friends make even more owning baseball teams. That should tell you something about how profitable this business really is.
I’d love to know why so many fans are convinced owners need a cap when franchise values have exploded and we still have no idea how much money these teams actually make.
If the owners are struggling so badly under the current system, open the books and prove it.
They won’t. And this is why!

Do pro salary cap people know their owners could go spend more right now if they wanted to

The “MLB has no parity” take is one of the laziest in sports.
Last 20 years of champions:
• MLB: 12 different World Series winners
• NFL: 13
• NBA: 12
• NHL: 13
And MLB went *24 straight years* without a repeat champion (until the Dodgers finally did it in 2025). No other major league has come close to that streak.
Cubs ended 108 years. White Sox 88. Rangers first title. Royals, Nationals, etc. all got theirs.
Salary caps in the other sports didn’t magically create more different champs. Baseball’s October chaos did. The “buy a title” narrative keeps dying in the playoffs.
Parity exists. You just have to look past the payroll spreadsheets.
Facts over feelings

Without even accounting for league revenue growth, the lowest payroll teams are laughably cheap. Since 2012 the cumulative inflation rate is ~46%, yet their payrolls have been hardly budged
Pretty glaring evidence that your “small market” owner is certainly lying to you

Surely Munetaka Murakami didn’t sign with a team that had an even lower payroll than the Pirates right? That could never be?

That’s a great question. The voters must be stupid! We know he can’t be productive while striking out so often.

Why Jake Bauers was named NCLS MVP if he struck out 41.1% of his PA in that series?

It couldn’t be the team that won, right? Could it?

There’s no reason why Seattle can’t be involved in the Jake Bauers free agency market.
Bauers is 31 and should only command a 2-3 year contract. Dominic Canzone can handle right field and Bauers can live at DH.
