Pete Crow-Armstrong is named MLB Defensive Player of the Year for Fielding Bible Awards. Boston's Ceddanne Rafaela won their CF award after he & PCA tied in points & both had same break down of 1st-3rd place votes. Defensive Runs Saved was last tiebreaker, giving it to Ceddanne.

Konnor Griffin may be a Gold Glove finalist as soon as next season. He has all the tools. Makes plays easier for himself with good movements, similarities to Taylor Walls in ways with a very good arm.

Been Gwak was named the Choi Dong-won Award winner as the KBO’s top pitcher. He had a 2.24 ERA with 197 strikeouts and had the highest strikeout per 9 rate by a Korean-born starting pitcher in KBO history. He’ll be posted for MLB clubs after the 2027 season

Teruaki Sato falls squarely between Murakami and Okamoto across multiple key tools. It makes for a highly intriguing profile when projecting his MLB upside and contract. Raw Power 1. Murakami 2. Sato 3. Okamoto Contact 1. Okamoto 2. Sato 3. Murakami Plate Discipline 1. Murakami 2. Okamoto 3. Sato Defense & Versatility 1. Okamoto 2. Sato 3. Murakami Run 1. Sato 2. Murakami 3. Okamoto Youth 1. Murakami 2. Sato 3. Okamoto
With Teruaki Sato’s transfer to MLB incoming, I’m very curious to see what orgs are interested in his high risk profile. There’s been some comps to Murakami in the Thump+K% department, but Sato chases at a far higher clip without the extreme BB rates. (📊 via @YankeesFocus)

Teruaki Sato 🇯🇵 is set to join MLB. The 27-year-old hit .359 with a 247 OPS+ in the first half, propelling him to the Triple Crown and likely back-to-back MVPs. His power is undeniable, but the biggest questions are an elevated chase rate and defensive inconsistency at 3B.

Had tons of fun discussing Teruaki Sato’s MLB potential, and once again thank you to @yakyucosmo for having me on! Also includes deep dives on must-know names like Tomoya Masaki, Kota Tatsu and many more. Look forward to doing this again soon ✅

Ride the slope, extend, and let it rip as you brace the front leg. Really like how he generates energy into the ball.

This is something NPB pitchers are ahead of the curve on. Even KBO to an extent. There's going to be a small boom in the number of MLB pitchers throwing multiple offspeeds. The sink and two-seam action on the Changeup and the more UFO spin on the Splitter are so awesome to watch
Logan Gilbert is one of the rare arms throwing BOTH a splitter & a changeup. #Mariners Very distinct shapes. Changeup is harder w/ 8" more lift & 13" more run than the split. Changeup: 84.5 mph | 4" iVB | 16" HB Splitter: 80.2 mph | -4" iVB | 3" HB

Hiromi Itoh in the WBC. We will see if he gets the velocity back on the four-seam as the NPB season starts. Rough ending for him, but he's still one of the best pitchers in Japan. Knuckle Curve = Death Ball on plot.
