I see many wondering why the No Kings rallies are not as confrontational or angry as protests in France, Albania etc, and have no concrete demands It’s because No Kings participants are certain the Democrats will sweep the midterms, and their only demand is that we vote Democrat These are purely get out the vote rallies for a Democrat Party that is still generally pro-war, pro-Israel, and corporate friendly They are filled with boomerlibs hypnotized by MSNOW and first term Trump era Russiagate propaganda. Once the Dems take power, they go back to brunch. Any more radical demands are sure to be diluted within the partisan No Kings morass, or shut down by a lady wearing a shirt that says “Resist.”

Better job security: Studio Chiefs or NFL Head Coaches?
Dan Lin is out as Netflix’s head of film after almost three years: • Lin’s exit follows last week’s shocking departure of chief content officer Bela Bajaria amid widespread Netflix layoffs that cut roughly 1,000 jobs • Lin was let go at the start of the weekend and will address his teams throughout the day on Monday variety.com/2026/film/news/n…

I know I sound like a lunatic but William Evans III and the sister of Christian Holmes V are both scions of semi-prominent 20C West Coast American settler families and that's how we can best understand them.

Submitting a humble plug for perfectly average doc The Inventor, which, unlike The Dropout, compiles actual footage of Holmes publicly fabulating in her heyday alongside ample evidence that she was lying, necessarily leaving ambiguous the degree to which she believed her own lies

The rapturous response to YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING stems in part from the fact that we live in a time where the quality of American cinema is at an all-time low. It's exceedingly rare for a genuinely provocative, thoughtfully constructed movie to become a pop-culture phenomenon

it saddens me @joeyvotto feels @Reds were wrong to retain him for 15+ seasons and makes me wonder if he realizes, as someone who likes our town, that shared TV revenue, salary cap+floor, as the owners have proposed, would prevent this SOPHIE'S CHOICE (1982) for small market teams

Yesterday, I watched Naza. I did not go to learn what had happened in Gaza. I am from there. I am one of the victims of this war, one of its witnesses, and one of those who have paid a price that will not end when the war does. I did not need a film to tell me how entire neighborhoods were wiped away, how residential buildings were bombed with the people still inside them, or how families were forced to leave their homes without knowing where they were supposed to go. Nor did I need anyone to tell me about the famine. I lived through it twice, with all its humiliations, down to the smallest detail. Or about the starving people who were killed while trying to reach what were so absurdly called “food distribution centers.” I know all of this. I was there. There’s a lot of talk about Paxton, but Darline Graham is easily the worst candidate I’ve ever seen. She’s the first candidate I’ve seen that truly has 0 knowledge of anything politics or government related. Not even misinformation. Just 0 information. Its mindblowing

The Brewers had the highest ground-ball rate in MLB this season. The pulled the ball less often than anyone, too. Only one team hit fewer homers. They are the exact opposite of how modern baseball is supposed to work. They also are a scoring machine. wsj.com/sports/baseball/brew…

As soon as I saw the trailer for the segment on insta I knew Bari Scissorhands must have had a hand in circumsizing it.
Lesley Stahl’s 60 Minutes report on extremist Israeli settlers underwent a contentious screening process at the Bari Weiss-led CBS News, leading the veteran correspondent to privately express the possibility of quitting the show Scoop from @oliverdarcy status.news/p/bari-weiss-les…

MISTY GREEN really ought to learn the ins and outs of Calfornia's generous squatters rights laws, she could have stayed in that dead man's apartment for at least another eight months.

The White Sox were a nice story but striking out 15 times a game across a five game series is one of the more embarrassing modern baseball stats yet achieved. Easily the worst division series collapse I can recall save the 2012 Reds.

Intelligence must draw on memory. The mind must not simply compile data — as an algorithm now does more quickly than we can — but recall lived experiences, which contain depths of meaning that only the human soul can recognize, and connect more deeply with the goodness of these experiences. Everything that is good begins “with the Spirit” and thus possesses a breath, a dynamism and a sense of communion that, once experienced, are engraved upon the heart. vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…
