Last week, @USCG crews in Southern California intercepted three smuggling vessels in separate encounters. Working with @USNavy and @CBP partners, these operations resulted in the apprehension of 34 undocumented aliens.
Always ready, the Coast Guard continues operations to secure our borders and maritime approaches far at sea, where defense of America begins.

Interoperability drives mission success.
U.S. Coast Guard Port Security Unit 308 recently trained with the U.S. Marine Corps 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion during a 48-hour exercise to strengthen defense readiness and joint operations.
Training together builds trust, strengthens communication, and ensures our forces can respond in crisis as one team. Exercises like these enhance Coast Guard readiness and interoperability across the Joint Force.

On Saturday, @USCG opened a regional recruiting hub in Tucson to connect with southern Arizona communities. Historic investment in the Coast Guard is allowing us to recruit across the country, find the best talent, and build the most capable force to save lives and defend America.
Recruiting centers like this one play a critical role in growing the service. Continuing its most successful recruiting effort in over 30 years, the Coast Guard has recruited more than 5,200 new members and met its recruiting goals for the second year in a row.

Another milestone for @USCG habitability and readiness.
Civil Engineering Unit Oakland executed a major housing renovation project at Station Neah Bay in Washington! Having modern, government-owned homes at Station Neah Bay is vital to supporting our watchstanders and keeping them mission-ready.
These modernized, safe, and comfortable homes continue the Coast Guard’s efforts to enhance habitability and quality of life for our personnel and their families.
