Wait, Salli Richardson-Whitfield is an executive producer of “The Gilded Age”?? 🤯
What’s missing from today’s performer landscape is the proper dance foundation, ballet, jazz, etc. Cindy is the only classically trained dancer but Frank Gatson provided En Vogue with foundational steps to showcase and chew. This performance is pretty much jazz choreo. He did the same for Beyonce which you can see in all of her work prior to the I Am era.
When En Vogue hit SNL in March 1992, they dismantled the myth that girl groups couldn’t sing full-throttle live in heels. Trading leads across Cindy, Dawn, Terry, and Maxine, their dynamic control remained untouchable—from Dawn’s raspy rock bite to Terry’s operatic belts. When they converged on the hook, their four-part harmonies locked in with their blend and zero backing tape. The album dropped 3 days later, proving to themselves and to the world just how Funky, these Divas really are.

Ben Affleck says Jennifer Lopez is a pioneer and she’s got a 4x degree of difficulty on what she’s done
"To understand Jennifer Lopez is to understand somebody who really is a pioneer. Who did things when she was told they’re not possible"
"Even when there were gates erected in front of her, she was able to use social media to demonstrate 'hey, there is an audience for me'"
"She’s exposed to a degree of criticism in which there is an implicit, or at least subconscious, double standard...She’s always done it by saying even if nobody else believes in me, I’m going to bet on myself"
