Regulations have been eased and government approval has the red carpet out, yet there are still no major buy orders for these certified SMRs. I thought the world needed strong, long-lasting, safe, cheap power. I don’t understand why underdeveloped nations aren’t lining up, at least. #uranium ##nuclear #smr #America

I do not care anymore. This country isn't in control of its itself. Now people are asking questions amd coming up with half answers to a problem that is basically suicide. We are acting like a the whore who doesn't understand why she's being kicked out of her new boyfriends home now that he found out about qhat she's done. We could've asked so many questions for the past 60 years due to each issues seriousness and made changes. Yet we just went along for a good time not doing a fucking thing to maintain or improve ourselves. We could've kicked our pimp in the balls and ran but that pimp kept assassinating our relatives so we played dumb and stayed. Now we've had to commit an atrocity for them and unto ourselves for them. God we really had it all. Maybe in the aftermath we can reorganize and ride again. This time with our own self determination

Important read! A brand-new sea-level canal deep enough for modern oil tankers would take a **minimum of 10–15 years of continuous construction** for a typical 50–100 mile neck of land. Add **3–5 years of planning, geology, and permitting** before the first major cut. From “we decided to do this” to the first fully loaded tanker, calendar time is more like **12–20 years**. Distance, required depth, and especially the rock you hit control the clock. ### Why it is not a simple trench A Very Large or Ultra Large Crude Carrier (VLCC/ULCC) does not just need a ditch as deep as the ship. - Loaded draft is **20–22 m (65–72 ft)** — that is how far the hull sits below the waterline. - You still have to go deeper. Moving ships sink a bit extra from hydrodynamic suction (the **squat effect**). To keep the keel off the bottom you excavate to **24–28 m (78–92 ft)**. - Bottom width is typically **200–300 m** so traffic can pass, or at least move under tight control. That combination means you are removing a huge volume of earth and rock across tens of miles, then finishing the last several meters **underwater**. ### How the work breaks down **Phase 1 — Politics, environment, and design (3–5 years)** Nothing big is dug yet. Engineers map the rock layers. If the route hits tough, brittle bedrock (dolomite, granite), they have to plan heavy blasting. Environmental studies look at what happens when two seas mix — invasive species, salinity, ecosystems — and those studies often end up in court. This phase is why “we announced a canal” and “machines started moving mountains” are years apart. maps.app.goo.gl/nLrnbssdpBgh…… **Phase 2 — Cutting the initial path (5–7 years)** Dry and shallow work: earth-movers, bucket-wheel excavators, and land-based blasting take the land down to the water table. Historically this alone was enormous. The original Suez Canal (1859–1869) took **10 years** with forced labor and early steam equipment — and that cut was only **about 8 m deep**, far short of tanker depth. **Phase 3 — Flooding the cut and deepening it underwater (4–6 years)** Once water is in, the slow part starts: getting to 24+ m. - Soft silt or clay: trailing suction hopper dredgers can vacuum the bottom relatively quickly. - Solid dolomite or similar rock: progress collapses. Crews use marine drilling barges, drill a grid in the channel floor, blast underwater (explosives need **25–50% more energy** because of water pressure), then haul jagged fragments with underwater drum cutters or clamshell dredgers. Millions of cubic meters of rock come out this way. Phases 2 and 3 are the “10–15 years of continuous construction.” They can overlap somewhat. Phase 1 sits in front of them. ### Why the historical numbers support that timeline | Project | Length | Depth | Time | What it actually was | |---|---|---|---|---| | Original Suez | ~120 miles | 8 m | 10 years | New canal, 1860s methods, **not** tanker depth | | Modern Suez deepening | same canal | 24 m | decades, iterative | Getting to tanker depth took a century of extra dredging | | Panama expansion | ~50 miles of existing canal | ~18 m locks / 15.2 m ship draft | 9 years (2007–2016) | Extra lanes and locks — **not** a new sea-level cut from scratch | | Proposed Eurasia Canal | ~430 miles | “tanker depth” in the source | ~10 years (estimate) | A modern proposal, not a built project | The pattern is consistent: even with modern machines, a **new** cut to **tanker depth** through mixed geology is a decade-plus job. Soft ground is faster. Hard rock under water is what stretches Phase 3. ### What would change the number A shorter, softer route finishes toward the low end of the range. A longer path, or a path through solid dolomite/granite that has to be blasted underwater, pushes toward 15 years of construction or beyond. #oil #uranium #nuclear #Iran

I'm going to go off the last military statements during the active part. Which was that the drones are too small, too many, and too easily deployed to stop. Then they showed the issue we were having trying to find them on just one side of one mountain. Bro, the military literally said we cannot stop the drones alone the way we're prosecuting the war. Now the Navy is even further away and the military bases in the area are fucked. Then they said they have helicopters and some new drone subs helping the ships get through. The distance the helicopters have to fly in order to do that mission, let alone fly around the strait—they'd be sitting ducks, plus I don't think they have enough fuel to do all that. Finally, when someone starts whispering sweet nothings like Venezuela oil, yet that won't fix the current destructive magnitude of the oil shortage about to hit. Then you better be worried, because you never get fucked like when you don't see it coming. Reminds me of the movie Don't Look Up. #nuclear #SMR #uranium #oil #Iran

Well holy shit I was just posting about dropping nukes. I guess Isreal might do it. Its a solution alright.
🇮🇱🇮🇷 A nuclear-armed Israeli submarine reportedly surfaced in plain view, and the message was aimed at Tehran. Professor David N. Gibbs points to reports of a Dolphin class sub leaving port on the surface where everyone could see it, the vessel that gives Israel its second strike capability. He doesn't think nuclear use is likely, but he won't rule it out. And he flags a second fuse: Ben-Gvir bringing settlers to pray at Al-Aqsa, which could turn this into a holy war.

I literally been posting about this type of issue all day. Weird
Here @BretWeinstein elegantly describes what everyone with functioning mental and sensory capabilities sees coming. From a taiji perspective, it only stands to reason that a period with too many options would be followed by a period with too few.

Now that SMRs are available, orders may come in rapidly — potentially within months. If every one of the 50 U.S. states ordered an average of 15 TerraPower-sized SMRs, that’s 750 reactors total. Each reactor needs roughly 20 tons of HALEU to start up. Producing one ton of HALEU requires about 47 tons of U₃O₈. So one reactor needs roughly 940 tons, or 1.88 million pounds of U₃O₈ for its first core. For 750 reactors, that comes out to about 1.41 billion pounds of U₃O₈ — equal to roughly eight years of total global uranium production. That’s just the initial fuel load. It doesn’t include reloads over the reactor’s life. oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-G… #uranium #nuclear #smr #America #MAGA #TRUMP

New Jersey's ambitious commitment to acquire 1,100 megawatts of small modular reactor power, despite being one of the smaller states, signals that an onslaught of orders is coming for SMR technology. SMRs offer reliable, long-lasting baseload power without the meltdown risks of traditional reactors, and their factory-built, assembly-line design allows them to be deployed much faster than conventional plants. This positions the United States to lead a new industrial renaissance powered by cheap, abundant clean energy. Beyond our own needs, America's SMR exports will generate significant economic returns and enhance our global soft power as nations worldwide turn to this American technology to meet their energy demands. oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-G… #uranium #nuclear #smr #America #Trump #MAGA @SecretaryWright
