Proud to see Brandefense contributing to industry-leading cybersecurity research alongside the latest 2026 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR).
Key findings from this year’s report highlight a growing challenge for security teams worldwide:
🔍 Vulnerability exploitation is now the leading initial access vector.
🔍 Critical vulnerability remediation rates continue to decline.
🔍 Time-to-patch is increasing while attack surfaces keep expanding.
The industry needs to move beyond simply patching faster and focus on reducing exposure, improving visibility, and prioritizing risks proactively.
At Brandefense, we’re proud to support organizations with continuous digital risk protection and actionable threat intelligence.
A big thank you to the DBIR team at Verizon Business for partnering with our team on this year's report.

🧩 Patching a NetScaler gateway closes the hole. It does not undo an intrusion that already happened.
Hunt before you update. Kill active sessions. Rotate what the device touched.

⚠️ Two NetScaler RCE zero-days, exploited before a patch existed. Working PoC now public.

One crafted email. No login. No admin panel. Root access on your email gateway. 🔓
CVE-2026-76461 (CVSS 9.8) is a SQL injection zero-day in Cisco Secure Email Gateway, already exploited in the wild before Cisco even disclosed it. The attacker doesn't need a vulnerability in your defenses — just your MX record and a message for the gateway to parse. No authentication, no workaround, no admin access required.
CISA added it to the KEV catalog the same day it was disclosed — the clearest signal that exploitation predated the advisory. Federal agencies had 3 days to patch.
If your SEG cluster has one compromised node, treat every node as compromised: shared SSH keys mean the attacker doesn't need to touch the others.

ShinyHunters just breached Clop's own ransomware leak site.
The group claims it took the source code, the server logs, and the private keys to Clop's Tor onion service. If that's true, whoever holds those keys can now publish under Clop's name.
For every company listed there, the question just changed. It's no longer only what Clop does next. It's who else can now speak in Clop's name, and who is reading the negotiation records nobody meant to be public.
This happened before. When LockBit's panel was breached in 2025, 59,975 bitcoin addresses and 4,442 victim negotiation messages surfaced in the dump.
A leak site was never a vault. Now it's proven not to be one.
