If you had stepped into our @DeepTech_Ready Program classroom last week, you probably would have noticed one thing straight away—there was a lot of curiosity in the room. The session began with Power BI DAX, where participants challenged themselves to go beyond creating reports and focused on asking better questions with their data. As they refined calculations and explored different ways to present insights, they discovered how small improvements can make reports more useful and easier to interpret. Then the conversation took an interesting turn. Using Open Source Kafka, participants got a hands-on demonstration of a data streaming pipeline, following how information flows continuously between systems before it reaches the dashboards, applications, and digital experiences people interact with every day. Seeing that process unfold helped connect the dots between data analysis and the engineering that powers it behind the scenes. Sessions like these remind us that learning goes beyond understanding concepts. A dashboard can have all the charts in the world and still leave people asking, "So... what does this actually mean?" That challenge set the tone for last week's @3MTT X @Airtel NextGen Program. Instead of creating new reports, fellows rolled up their sleeves and revisited the dashboards they had already built. Every interaction mattered. Filters became smarter, navigation became smoother, and visuals were refined to help users explore data naturally instead of feeling overwhelmed. As the session progressed, the dashboards began to feel less like collections of charts and more like tools people could confidently use to answer questions, spot patterns, and make informed decisions.
