Texans are paying attention. More Americans are realizing that these kinds of racial politics have consequences at the ballot box and are ready to reject it in Texas.
The dehumanization of American students at the UT football game because of their skin color should make one thing unmistakable: racism doesn’t become legitimate just because it is repackaged as “economic concern.”
What’s heartening is seeing more Americans wake up to the larger H-1B playbook. They are amplifying individual misconduct into stereotypes, stripping Indians of credit for their contributions to Texas and America, and turning an entire community into a racial scapegoat.
You can debate immigration policy. You don’t get to turn racial prejudice into “merit” and call it economic policy. The Midterms are 2 months away.
