Joe Burrow burning the boats for us means something to me man. He hasn’t had to say any of the stuff he has said, yet, he continues to say it with conviction. The national media has given him every opportunity to make excuses to start soft launching his exit out of Cincinnati and he has done the opposite. He has praised the front office for their efforts, he has talked a lot about how much he respects the coaches, and he has left zero doubt. He. Wants. To. Be. In. Cincinnati. Actually? Check that. He. Wants. To. WIN. In. Cincinnati. If you have grown up here long enough, you grown up through a lot of people leaving. Palmer demanded to leave, Kelly left, Fickell left. Hell even the people the I hate have been through it, miller(2X), Matta left. Guys who weren’t supposed to be leave left (Mack/Mick). Burrow could leave and the national media would champion him for it. They’d blame the Brown family, they’d blame the coaches, they’d mock us fans (despite all of it being completely out of our control), and we’d be left with nothing but our dick in our hand. Instead? Unlike the others, Burrow isn’t running from it. He’s running toward it, and it will endear him to this city forever. I don’t know if it will ever be brought home here but I know Joe is going to die trying to do it. I’m glad he’s ours. Can’t wait til Sunday.
