Fundora fought the same fight he always fights. Still a tought fight for anyone. He's always had the same flaws but that does not mean anyone just goes and makes easy work in a few rounds.
Let this play out. And this is actually one of the reasons you do not take the short end of the stick to make fights since every oppt will try to do the same thing. DAZN will get it done.
Sampson wants 50-50 for Fundora who has 1 belt vs Boots who would have 3. Boots has done numerous 7 figure gates including $2.4m against Xander Zayas. Fundora did not even do 10% of that in his second last headliner. You can't make this shit up.
I mean regardless if you want to call it preserving or not, it is the right way to go about this. CMC with a 15+ rushes is going to be ineffective as we saw last season. His value is still in the passing game. Gravity is a real thing. All adv stats show that.

Good boxing mind no doubt. Had good skills but lacked the extra gear to be a top level fighter but he knows the game very well. Definitely a plus for Devin.
Devin is more of an athlete than a pure defensive fighter. All about distance control with his feet. Shakur can stand in the pocket and make you miss five consecutive shots. But Devin has the reach advantage and a very good jab. More one shot pop and is stronger. Good fight.

Why would Fundora fight Ortiz in the meantime when he is setting up to fight the winner of the Boots/Kelly unification? And no one is saying Ortiz should just wait in the meantime. He should fight, but just someone better than a small, washed up Thurman. Is that too much to ask?
The thing is, at this point of Thurman's career, he does not even have much of a name so what does this fight do for Vergil? We just saw Thurman get beat pillar to post in his last fight. The fight will not be a big seller, nor will it mean anything. Pointless.
I love how Max/Shady get pulled and all of a sudden Max had Shady on his podcast this week lol.
No one has explained well what the point of that show is and why it is even needed. Shady is a boxing fan but more so a high level casual....Why was he on there in the first place?
The show is super unnecessary and won't last regardless...But Max and Shady were both terrible from the little I watched.
