For the past 3 years, I’ve been shooting a doc about @LuFisto and her incredible career, exploring what happens when someone gives everything to a dream that doesn’t come true. This weekend we shot our final scene
Also @Grimezsz has been a huge inspiration to me in the process of making this film, listening to her music on the long drives to and from shoots. Wanted to pay tribute to her work with this incredible opening scene that sums up some of what this film is truly about

Which is your favourite 'fourth wall break' scene in movies?
I'll begin:
Summer with Monika (1953)
Director: Ingmar Bergman
The soundtrack is great, but can we get one of those career achievement Oscars for Hisaishi? The man never misses. Its time to recognize him
Joe Hisaishi’s original score for THE BOY AND THE HERON is now available to stream, including the main theme “Ask Me Why.”

THE BOY AND THE HERON is Miyazaki at his most surreal, but behind the film’s ethereal dreamscape is something deeply poignant. More than anything however, it is time to nominate Joe Hisaishi for Best Score. Easily one of the best of the year and he’s been due.

If you refuse to watch anything like L'AVVENTURA or VENGEANCE IS MINE or CHIMES AT MIDNIGHT or CHARADE or SMILES OF A SUMMER NIGHT, if those titles aren't familiar to you... maybe your take on the Greatest Filmmaking of All Time doesn't matter anyway and you can just relax.
