In the clip above, not only he turned the ball over, you see him jumping instantly to be played around. Lack of positional discipline was a pertinent point, as his rather reckless jump on a marked player from the 442 block opened space for a goal here: 3/5

As these 2 clip show, Arsenal, albeit not all the times, played around the press really well. Even if he (Bruno G) plays probably the place you should be the safest of all in terms of possession, both these clips ends with him turning the ball over: 2/5

With all the praise Brighton got for the intense pressing v Arsenal (was good!) & Arsenal not copping well, my biggest takeaway from the game rather was Bruno G's capability (or not) to play the base of the midfield diamond we're employing this season. 1/5
While he was at Newcastle last season, he was moved from the base of the midfield to a more advanced position for this reason, which was directly reflected in his output—14 goal contributions.
Not only defensively, but during buildup he also gets caught high up the pitch at times, unnecessarily increasing the distances between players and hurting our ball progression. It feels like a system/role mismatch. He is clearly a #8 imo.

Unless we play with a LHS-tending forward who can combine/link up with the others, Eze and Calafiori will likely remain isolated, meaning we will still be unbalanced in attack. I fully understand why Arteta is so keen on Rogers, Alvarez, and Kroupi.

Expecting Eze to pull a rabbit out of a hat without effectively utilizing the LHS is a bit unrealistic. When our solutions on the RHS run dry, we naturally struggle because we lack familiarity with playing down the LHS.

Rice practically slotting into the 3rd CB these days so as to not receive the ball with his back to goal, he isn’t good on the turn but can pick a pass if he can see the field face forward.

Saka on the left gives him better first time shot angles and he's better than all options at LW. Picture how doue is used at RW for PSG.
Madueke thrives best at RW as a 1v1 athletic and transition / chaos outlet to stretch mid blocks and high lines.

Brighton have been brilliant.
Think we managed the game well, but concerning that Z14 has been emptied 3x by my eyes in 1st half.
Both goals happen because there's no pressure on the striker receiving centrally - 2nd goal is what happens because we don't finish a 3v2 counter

Brighton found our biggest weakness.
Dembele goal at the carpet and Kroupi's goal at the vitality exposed this too.
Feed ball to winger --> Fullback & CM dragged wide --> Return ball to middle where there's time to shoot because Arsenal prefer defensive compactness to engaging.
