Clubs are all about the great people you meet and @BoxHillHawks is no exception. Dave - one of our most loyal match day volunteers who has run the beer booth and bar at City Oval for 30 years or so - missed the @VFL Grand Final as he is recovering in hospital after recent surgery. So it was a real pleasure to drop in on him to share the spoils of victory. I think I managed to brighten his day. Go Mustangs!!!

A great day at the footy on Saturday, with the 40th anniversary reunion of @BoxHillHawks 1986 VFA Division Two Premiership team. 14 of the 17 surviving players were in attendance which made for a great day of reminiscing, laughs and tall stories getting even taller. Let's hear it one more time for the 1986 Premiers, the Mighty Mustangs!!

Warm congratulations to @BoxHillHawks VFL Coach David Mirra who having played 155 VFL games for Premiership points, played in 3 representative games and coached 17 VFL games has reached the 175 game qualification for @VFL life membership. Dave is an ornament to our Club and would be richly deserving of such a high honour.

Another @BoxHillHawks Life Members and Hall of Fame luncheon hosted last Sunday; another day of wonderful friends and memories. Two more new faces join the Box Hill Hawks Hall of Fame in 2026; starting with the legendary Col Austen as inductee #35; the first man to lead the White Horses into a VFA finals series 70 years ago this year.

This year's second and overall #36 inductee into the @BoxHillHawks Hall of Fame is Alan Dickinson, an inspirational rover (he topped the century for both games played and goals scored) who became the first Box Hill player in the VFA era to play in two Premierships; with the undefeated Under 19s of 1976 and in the historic 1984 Division Two flag. He sadly passed away in 1987 at the age of just 28. Since 1988 the annually awarded Best Clubman Trophy has carried his name in memory.
