Update 8/2/26: #JohnsonCanyonFire
Box Elder Co. Burned very active through the night and is now estimated at 3,500–4,000 acres.
Fire crews worked through the night getting dozer line around the fire, but high winds pushed the fire and firefighters were not able to get around it. Today, resources will continue efforts and continue constructing containment lines as conditions allow.
Washakie & Portage residents remain under Level 1 Ready Evacuation Status for #JohnsonCanyonFire.

Overnight operations continue on the #JohnsonCanyonFire.
Approximately 75 local, state and federal personnel are working through the night on fire suppression efforts between Johnson and Broad Canyons.
