More like July 28-29 when they were 1.5 /2 games back. Rays went on a run. Yankees played .500 and havent caught up.

Prior to the mid 2000s, there were barely any digital cameras. They were too expensive. Most people shot on 35mm film. My photos that I took on 9/11 from my balcony were shot on a cannon sure shot and a Nikon. When I had the film developed at CVS, the clerk was shocked.

Do you think he was a coward? Lacked courage? I understand what you are suggesting, but I would go with Choke artist, not clutch. Etc. I agree he never rose to the moment. If you can point to a play where he was trying to avoid being hit, then maybe your example applies.
