Day 313. Spent all of my dev time today working on various sprites. I'm not really happy with any of it, but here's sample of some of the bad art anyway. I was playing around with different redesign ideas for the netsuke. Going for a pseudo-3D medal kind of look.

Day 312. Implemented 3 new achievements today. But these weren't freebies like ones that I added the over the past few days. I actually had to write some custom logic for these. And with them in place, every planned Ningami 1 achievement has now been implemented.

Day 311. See day 310 lol. Should be back on the grind tomorrow. Feels like progress has been real slow this past month or two, and I need to kick things back into gear soon.

Day 310. As promised, I coded in a single in-game achievement today. It's easy to have a successful day when the bar is low lol.

Day 309. Just found out today that my whole weekend is going to be booked. All I had time to do today was code in a single in-game achievement. And tomorrow/Sunday will no doubt be a similar story. Should be my last busy weekend until December though, so that's nice.

Day 308. Shifted focus to the other of the 2 NPCs that I wanted to resprite. I cheekily cut some corners, but I consider it to be done now. I'll wait until I finish the first of the 2 NPCs before I post a 2 for 1 video of them.

Day 307. Okay, real talk, I was lazy today. I spent like 5 minutes on the same sprites from yesterday and then called it a day. I'll partially blame it on the cold that I have, but I can't deny the role that laziness played.

Day 306. I have two NPC sprites that I've wanted to clean up for a while now, and I spent all of my dev time today struggling with one of them. And to no avail--yet. Might need to revisit his design altogether.

Day 305. Today was another light day, as expected. But I still knocked out a few items on my "Bugs/minor tweaks catch-all" Trello card. I've been doing so few coding tasks recently that even fixing some dumb bugs felt great.

Day 304. Modified some more board specific tiles today. Namely the sun and neon chevron tiles for the Neo New Kyoto boards. The sun might be a bit too abstract for a healing tile, but it fits with the theming of the area, in that the teru teru bouzus want to ward off the rain.

Day 303. Finished up the female ninja sprites. Y'know, I read the other day that "kunoichi" originally had no female ninja connotations. The term comes from an intentional misreading of the character for woman. So there's some fun, half-baked trivia. #ScreenshotSaturday #Gameboy

Day 302. This extended weekend from yesterday through to Monday has been/will be really busy for me. So again, all I managed to carve out time for today was more admin-y type stuff. Should have a new clip to post tomorrow though.

Day 301. Spent very little time on the project today. What little time I had was spent working on the (p)itch page that I talked about yesterday. The copy seems good at this point, but I still need to take screenshots and finalize a demo build.

Day 300. To commemorate the big round number milestone, I started working on a custom build and a private itch page for the purposes of presenting the game to publishers. Wondering if I should make a trailer too. That would be a big challenge.

Day 299. Uniquified the tiles for the snowy theme and for the dojo theme today. Didn't take any before and after pics, so just wait until the game comes out if you want to see them. :^)

Day 298. Most boards are currently using the same icon art for stuff like arrows and damage/healing tiles. So today I uniqified the bamboo board theme's tiles. I'll probably leave the start/end/enemy icons untouched across all board themes, but the others are fair game.

Day 297. Redid the battle background for the kyudo dojo to better fit the redesigned overworld art. I'll miss the poles, but the pole-less version is more accurate to real life shooting ranges. (At least, according to the images I found online.)

Day 296. Here are the after and before pics of the dojo maps. From programmer art, to... better programmer art lol. Other than maybe the bushes, I'm happy enough with the look of things after the redesign. #ScreenshotSaturday #Gameboy

Day 295. Spent more time working on the dojo tileset today. Most of it was spent redoing the roof for the 1000th time. Should finish the area tomorrow, and I'll save the next progress pic for then.

Day 294. Worked on the tileset for the dojo's shooting range today. It's coming along, but perspective is tough. Before on top, wip after on bottom.
