@RobBriggs1 The young lad I saw at the academy this morning was called Phil Foden I believe. Remember that name #forgetsonnypike

The genius of the running-elevator gag in Police Squad! is how Leslie Nielsen and Alan North manage to keep perfectly straight faces.
I have no idea how many takes it took, but North not even blinking through the flowers and the arrow is unbelievable.

Today marks exactly 10 years since Hacker T. Dog delivered the greatest unscripted line in British television history.
"We're just normal men... We're just innocent men."

“Very enjoyable evening”
Very enjoyable evening in Warwick with an audience clearly supporting the idea that Brexit was a disaster and net zero is the only way to go. Nice of @libdemdaisy to be there on her birthday! We all drank to her health afterwards apart from @ZiaYusufUK who legged it with his status symbol bodyguard. Fascinating to see how he did not make a single positive argument for Brexit. They never do. He has lovely shoes though, but a very weak handshake which is never a good sign in anyone.

Is that it?
John Healey had a big job to do cleaning up Labour’s mess. This Budget fails to do it.
Britain is overspent, overborrowed and overtaxed. This Budget does not come close to meeting the moment.

The electorate aren’t goldfish. Our memories are long enough to recall June 2024, when you declared that trans-identified men with penises should be able to use women’s public bathrooms. It took a Supreme Court ruling to force you to uphold women’s rights, and now you pose as our bold champion? Please.
The time for talk has long passed. This government is putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to supporting women and girls.
We'll back practical action to confine misogyny to the history books - in public services, workplaces, and online.

Alastair Campbell calling himself a 'national treasurer' reminds me of this Margaret Thatcher quote:
"Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't"

🚨 Ohara & Cundy On Man City 👀
🗣"When you're looking at what Utd's owners are doing to THAT club.. I'd rather have #ManCity's owners 100%. They've changed their football club, made it better, more global and signed best players. And Sheikh Mansour spent his own money" 👏

Every single sentence in your post is untrue.
Labour’s 2002 ‘deal’ had very little long-term impact on migrants trying to sneak into the UK by lorry/container/vehicles. It simply moved from Sangette to other routes.
Between 2014-2019 55,000 came in that way — an underestimate since many came in undetected and disappeared into society. Unlike boat people, nearly all of whom are counted.
So it’s an obvious nonsense to say people weren’t being sent back because nobody was arriving. Tens of thousands were arriving.
They switched to small boats when major advances in technology, perimeter defence of lorry/container parks and detection made lorries etc too risky to take.
That’s why, from 2018 onwards, the small boat numbers grew fast.
Nothing to do with EU, Brexit, Dublin rules, fairy dust etc. Why do you peddle such falsehoods?

New detail of Man City’s ‘irrefutable evidence’ claim as they look to overturn verdict
*Contemporaneous bank statements, government records and receipts they see as confirming the Abu Dhabi government as the source of funds for financing of deals
*More recent evidence from the Abu Dhabi government which stands by the accuracy of the original records
*What they see as fundamental inconsistencies in the findings describing the government-funded explanation as “concocted”
