Read about the role of AGAMOUS-like genes in reproductive development in Trithuria submersa from @silvia_moschin and team @BotanyLabUnipd.
Their work is published in @Planta_Journal.
Very happy to share our new article on Trithuria submersa and its AGAMOUS genes 💪🌸💚🧬🔬🎉

𝑇𝑟𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑎 𝑠𝑢𝑏𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑎 belongs to Nymphaeales, one of the three early diverged lineages of angiosperms. Looking at these flowers is very important for evo-devo studies!!
New paper from our lab!!! link.springer.com/article/10…
Look how tiny these little Trithuria flowers are and what a curious arrangement of its flower organs!
We studied its MADS-box floral development genes and mapped where they are expressed!

Second day of fieldwork for me and @CeciZumajo in the Paramo, helping @NataliaPabonMo1 to collect plants 🌱 we did a good sampling and had a lot of fun surrounded by frailejones. @UniPadova @DiBio_UniPD @ortobotanicopd @BotanyLabUnipd @EVOfruland_RISE @MSCActions @UniPD_Research
First day of fieldwork for @Sebastiano_N and @CeciZumajo of @DiBio_UniPD and @ortobotanicopd together with @NataliaPabonMo1 in a paramo in Cundinamarca, Colombia, in the context of @EVOfruland_RISE project. This environment offers an amazing biodiversity of unique plants!
We want also to acknowledge the funding agencies that support our research and participation

It has been an exciting and intense week, full of amazing talks on the best research in botany! a great opportunity to interact and discuss with many botanists, students and eminent scientists. We take home a lot of new ideas, new questions to address and a lot of new friends! 🌱
4. Sebastiano Nigris talked about how compost can shape plant microbiotas giving the talk“The use of compost improves biodiversity in the bacterial community of the rhizosphere of tomato plants” (Nº613/1464) in the symposium BENEFICIAL PLANT-MICROBE INTERACTIONS @Sebastiano_N
3. Giulia Ghirardello presented her work about plant-microbe interactions with a talk entitled “ Molecular mechanisms involved in rhizobacteria-plant interaction in Solanum lycopersicum” (Nº613/897 ) in the symposium BENEFICIAL PLANT-MICROBE INTERACTIONS 🌱🦠🧫
2. Cecilia Zumajo Cardona presented her work on Gnetales with a presentation entitled “Untangling the developmental genomics of the unique reproductive structures in Gnetales” (Nº613/530) in the Evo-Devo symposium @CeciZumajo
🌱🌳🌿
1. Silvia Moschin gave a talk entitled “The investigation of the reproduction in Ginkgo biloba“ (Nº613/1162) in the Evo-Devo symposium @silvia_moschin 🌿🌱🌳
We are so happy to have attended the
#IBC2024 in Madrid!!! A huge amount of great talks, in a very nice and inclusive atmosphere!!!
