Ukraine and Russia are itching to unleash AI-powered drones that could outsmart jamming, pick targets like a pro, and lighten the load on human operators, but they’re stuck in the prototype phase.
Both sides are tinkering with machine learning and limited AI, with Ukraine’s “mother drone” and Russia’s terrain-navigating swarms showing flashes of brilliance.
Yet, scaling up’s a headache: Russia’s bogged down by clunky centralized control, while Ukraine’s scraping for chips and coordination.
These drones hit targets three to four times better than human-piloted ones, but the revolution’s on hold until they nail the data and tech.

Elon is right, even the most advanced space systems are not competitive with fixed wireless in highly populated locations. However, Starlink has found the best way forward. You are correct.
Even the most advanced space-based Internet system is not competitive with fiber or cellular wireless in medium to high population density areas.
However, systems like Starlink are far more efficient for low density areas like rural farmland and moving objects like cars traveling cross-country, aircraft or ships.
