What an absolutely incredible afternoon at the Riverside. A huge thank you and enormous credit to everyone at Middlesbrough FC who made the 150th Anniversary Legacy Game such a special occasion. To see so many Boro legends back together, representing different generations of our club, was genuinely something special. The whole day was a brilliant celebration of 150 years of history, memories, players and, most importantly, the people who make this club what it is. Days like this remind you just how much Middlesbrough Football Club means to our town and our supporters. The club did itself proud. A positive result for Boro fans 👏 Following feedback raised through the BFP, Middlesbrough FC and Cardiff City have agreed reciprocal ticket pricing for both league fixtures this season. This is exactly the kind of thing we want the Fan Panel to help achieve. Listening to fans, taking those views directly to the club and working together to make a genuine difference. Positive change for Boro fans is what the BFP is here to help deliver. UTB🔴⚪️

Following our meeting with Middlesbrough FC regarding the 150th anniversary shirt, the BFP wanted to give supporters an honest update. We raised the strength of feeling from supporters, including concerns around the limited initial release, the purchasing experience and the clear demand for more shirts. The club has now confirmed a further 1,200 adult shirts for pre-order, with an additional production run planned for January if required. We welcome the fact that more supporters will now have the opportunity to purchase the anniversary shirt. We also raised a wider concern that mistakes and issues which have affected supporters in the past seem to keep being repeated. The club acknowledged this and agreed that improvements are needed. Going forward, the BFP will work with the club to try to identify these issues earlier and minimise the chances of the same mistakes happening again. The purpose of the BFP is to give supporters a meaningful voice and provide genuine input into decisions affecting fans. We will continue to work with the club to make sure the Panel is involved early enough for that input to be meaningful. We also want to be clear that, while supporters are completely entitled to be frustrated and to challenge the club, the personal abuse directed at individual MFC staff members online is unacceptable. Criticism should remain focused on decisions and processes, not individuals. We will continue to represent supporters honestly and constructively, while working with the club to improve things for supporters going forward.
