A topic that is worthy of front page news. Whilst the immediate concerns of @BorderWorkers and border businesses have been addressed, now is the perfect time for a modern solution that allows hybrid working to continue, without disadvantaging ROI workers @Paschald #RemoteWorking
This week's @DerryNow front page features an interview with Coalition Co-Chair @AidanOKane on the impact of ROI cross-border tax legislation on local employers.
The @Derry_Chamber President outlines the need for permanent, long-term solutions in 2022.

Myself and @McHughJoeTD had a good discussion with @Paschald today about ROI cross border workers who work from home.
While the temp waiver has been extended, more certainty is needed.
The Minister agreed to meet with reps again in the NY @BorderWorkers – at Dublin City, Ireland

I can’t say it any clearer than this.
“It’s time for Minister @Paschald and the Irish Government to act”
Speaking on @HighlandNews today, Coalition Co-Chair @AidanOKane has said that @Paschald must act urgently to extend the temporary Covid-19 waiver on essential tax relief for cross-border workers.
"Now is the time for the Irish Govt to act", Aidan says.

Happy to support @BorderWorkers who are proposing detailed & practical solutions to the challenges faced by cross-border workers on the island. Without change in Budget 2022 people will be forced by inflexible tax rules to either work remotely or in-office with no hybrid option.
📢Thank you to @ibec_irl for including our issue in their Budget 2022 Submission.
IBEC ask the Government to "work with HMRC to facilitate changes for cross-border workers in the border region".
⬇️Imperative for cross-border workers that this issue is addressed in the Budget.

Well done to @BorderWorkers for raising this important issue. Covid restrictions placed a spotlight on tax policies that negatively impact cross-workers & employers. Policies should reflect flexible working practices and meet the needs of our cross-border communities!
📢Restrictive personal tax rules mean that cross-border workers can face long daily commutes to their workplace just to avoid a financial penalty.
⬇️Urgent action needed from Finance Minister @Paschald in October's Budget to protect home-working rights of cross-border employees.

Great discussion today with @MaryLouMcDonald regarding the double tax issue ROI residents will face, if they decide to work from home after December 2021, for NI based companies. We have alignment across the full political spectrum that the legislation needs to change. @Paschald
Coalition Co-Chair @AidanOKane had great engagement with @sinnfeinireland President @MaryLouMcDonald earlier today.
Encouraging discussion on ROI home-working tax rules which can deny remote work to thousands of cross-border workers. Urgent action needed in October's Budget.

It’s an honour to be invited to participate in this event; to help raise awareness of the current tax challenges that @BorderWorkers will face from Jan 2022 onwards if @RevenueIE fails to address as a matter of urgency. @Paschald @emer_currie1 @LeoVaradkar @MaryLouMcDonald

A great piece by @unakelly3 on @rtenews. As we head towards the autumn we are hopeful @Paschald and his team at the @RevenueIE will bring solutions to the very real concerns that both @BorderWorkers and border businesses have, in relation to this matter.

Replying to @Paschald
@Paschald We’re at the stage where some action is needed to change cross border tax laws which practically prohibits many Irish citizens working remotely for Northern Irish based companies.
In the context of everything that is happening, this one is easy to fix. #LetsGetItDone
