I'm always amazed (and frankly, I shouldn't be) that people wilfully post their dishonesty or media illiteracy for everyone to see.
You do realize that Jonathan dies BEFORE all those events, right? That's literally the point. Clark carries the guilt of standing there and doing nothing while his father died, despite having the power to save him. His subsequent actions reflect someone who is no longer willing to stand by and let people die simply to protect his secret.
You've literally taken the events that happen years apart, ignored the development between them, and then accused the writers of forgetting their own screenplay while you showcased that you have absolutely NO IDEA what's going on. The irony is unreal lol.
Also, Clark saving people anonymously isn't the same thing as publicly revealing his identity. The movie makes that pretty clear, buddy.
