We believe this war will be over as soon as possible. But Putin plans to stick around much longer. He is building a Russia that looks like North Korea โ€“ where children are raised from an early age for war and to die for their leader. So Russia will not stop being dangerous. And it is our โ€“ Ukrainian โ€“ strength, our army, our technologies that help guarantee also European security, your security. These security guarantees are not yet reflected โ€“ we think โ€“ in your budget from 2028 onward. Letโ€™s get serious about this. Letโ€™s work out exactly how Ukraineโ€™s defense capabilities should be included in that budget. From an address to the participants of the European Council meeting. (5/5)

๐Ÿคฉ Super news for younger people โ€ฆ but I want Freedom of Movement back, not a rationed version of it. A capped, under-30s mobility scheme is better than what we have now, but it is still Brexit bureaucracy. Before Brexit, British citizens had the right to live, work and build a life across Europe without being filtered through age limits, quotas and visa negotiations. Rights are better than schemes. This is another step back towards Europe but it also reminds us what Brexit took away.

I miss having an actual President in the Oval Office.
๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Obama: "Imagine if I had done any of this. Imagine if I had revoked Fox News' credentials from the White House press corps. Imagine if I had told law firms representing parties upset with policies my administration had launched: You won't be allowed in government buildings. We'll punish you economically for opposing the Affordable Care Act or the Iran nuclear deal. We'll go after students protesting my policies. It's inconceivable that the same people staying silent now would have tolerated such behavior from me or from a large number of my predecessors."

I am grateful for your support for Ukraine. Thank you. Weโ€™ve been through a lot together โ€“ during these years of full-scale war. None of us wanted this war, absolutely none of us. But it is us who have to deal with its brutality and all the instability it has caused. Unity in defense is always built by many standing together. Without a determined European Union capable of making strong decisions Putin would have gone much further by now. The European Union has not fallen apart. It has not backed down or given in to fear when it came to defending the European way of life. And that mattered just as much as the courage of Ukrainians. Russians interfered in the Tory party- 2010-2024- ยฃ4.8m donations. 2012 - Russian Federation held a Reception to mark the establishment of the Conservative Friends of Russia 1 month later CEO Vote L -Elliott expenses paid trip to Moscow with spy- Nalobin. 2018-Russia bribes Gill
So Burnham should not have made accusations about Russian interference in Brexit if there was no proof and he certainly shouldn't have lied in Parliament.

Former Head of MI6 Sir John Sawers, "Russia was very keen that the Leave campaign should succeed and that Britain should leave the European Union" "Because that would marginalise Britain as a global player and weaken Europe in general" "That's the strategic opportunity the Russians spotted, and the leaders of the Leave campaign fell into it" My view: Former MI6 chief Sir John Sawers says Russia saw Brexit as a way to weaken Britain and divide Europe, and that the Leave campaignโ€™s leaders walked straight into the opportunity. So letโ€™s remember who sold it: VOTE LEAVE โ€ข Boris Johnson โ€” political figurehead โ€ข Michael Gove and Gisela Stuart โ€” campaign committee co-convenors โ€ข Matthew Elliott โ€” chief executive โ€ข Dominic Cummings โ€” campaign director โ€ข Daniel Hannan โ€” leading Brexit advocate โ€ข Priti Patel, Iain Duncan Smith, Chris Grayling, John Whittingdale and Theresa Villiers โ€” senior Conservative campaigners โ€ข David Davis, Liam Fox, Dominic Raab, Steve Baker and Douglas Carswell โ€” prominent Leave campaigners LEAVE. EU โ€ข Nigel Farage โ€” leading political figure โ€ข Arron Banks โ€” co-chairman and major funder โ€ข Andy Wigmore โ€” communications director GRASSROOTS OUT / LABOUR LEAVE โ€ข Peter Bone and Tom Pursglove โ€” Grassroots Out co-founders โ€ข Kate Hoey โ€” Grassroots Out co-founder and Labour Leave campaigner โ€ข Graham Stringer, Kelvin Hopkins and Roger Godsiff โ€” Labour Leave campaigners โ€ข Sammy Wilson โ€” prominent DUP Leave campaigner They promised Brexit would make Britain stronger. Sawers says Russia saw the opposite opportunity: a Britain marginalised and a Europe weakened.

Did ordinary people in the UK vote to leave the EU? No! We voted in an advisory referendum. Not to leave the Single Market. Not to lose Freedom of Movement. Not for higher living costs. Previous UK governments chose Brexit for us But we can choose to change it.

๐Ÿคฉ The Brexit debate is moving very fast now. Bernd Lange, @berndlange chair of the European Parliamentโ€™s trade committee and a veteran of the Brexit negotiations, says Britain could move quickly into a *Switzerland plus* relationship with the EU. In other words, the choice is not simply: Hard Brexit forever or wait years for full re-entry. There are routes back towards deep economic integration much faster than that. And once again, the message from Europe is not stay away. It is: if Britain wants to come closer, the door is open.
