I finally got my @BBNYA_Official judge feedback! “Exactly my cup of tea lol. Reminds me of an old Robert E Howard Conan adventure” “Great command of the language” “Very dark and descriptive in its horrors. Very evocative.” “you know what you are getting here” “As dark and grotesque as the opening paragraphs were, I could not look away.” Lots of delectable praise for The Shattered Line in there, but it seems there was one judge who didn’t connect with it 😂 Ah well, you can’t get them all. Although… with The Shattered Line seemingly just missing out on progressing to round 2 in BBNYA2026 & the same with IBOR2026 by a SINGLE FUCKING POINT, I might have to change the name to ‘The Shattered Hope | Book One in The Almost-So-Close Saga’. I’m stoked to see how much everyone enjoyed it and I’m glad my prose being a bit overwritten is consistently the biggest problem readers have with it. That makes targeted edits for book 2 much easier.
