🥼 From 2d to 3D - A walk through the Lab 🧪 As we prepare to launch our 3d Avatars, let's rewind the clock and take a look back at the history of Moon Ape Lab - from its inception to the new adventure we are about to embark on... Moon Ape Lab's story began with a collection of 8,000 Genesis Moon Apes, a visual masterpiece brought to life by the talented World of Warcraft illustrators, @StasSvetlov1 and @Vlad_Svetlov96. This remarkable collection marked the start of an adventure that promised to take the NFT world by storm In January 2022, the founding team launched the Moon Ape Lab Genesis Collection. The roadmap laid out ambitious plans, including the introduction of a Play-to-Earn (P2E) game As the first leg of Moon Ape Lab's journey unfolded, it gave birth to four additional NFT collections: Loot, Pets, Cola, and Mutants, each adding unique dynamics and value to the Moon Ape ecosystem The original roadmap also promised raffles, leaderboards, charity donations, and a liquidity pool But as we all know, the crypto space can be unpredictable and in April 2021, a twist of fate saw some of the original team members exit the project, taking the majority of the funds with them This unexpected turn could have spelled the end, but the Moon Ape Lab community had a different plan in mind In the face of adversity, a group of dedicated holders, armed with a wealth of web3 and business experience, united behind the scenes. They presented a proposal to save the project and keep the Moon Ape dream alive After six weeks of intense negotiations, all project assets, along with a remaining balance of 57 ETH, were transferred to the newly elected team This transition came with a fresh roadmap, designed to honour unfulfilled promises made to holders while adapting to the evolving landscape. With a slim budget to work with, the new team set out to rebuild and redefine Moon Ape Lab's future One of these defining moments came when the incumbent team, passionate about the project's potential, agreed to work on deferred salaries, with some team members going full-time. This collective dedication reflected the unwavering belief in the project and its community, and continues to do so 👊 Today, 18 months later, in November 2023, we are on the verge of a remarkable milestone: the launch of our 3D avatars. These avatars, a testament to our resilience and creativity, will redefine the Moon Ape experience and will give holders ultimate ownership of their assets The path has been marked by challenges, but it has also been illuminated by the unwavering spirit of the Moon Ape Lab Community - we have come together to ensure that Moon Ape Lab not only survives but thrives Today, we stand on the precipice of a new era in NFTs, as we prepare to unleash our 3D avatars and venture into the Metaverse This journey is a testament to the power of community, the resilience of visionaries, and the belief that together, we can achieve the extraordinary As we continue shaping the future of Moon Ape Lab, we invite you to join us, and all of the friends we have made along the way, in this incredible adventure 🥂
