French journalist Paul Amar: “They came prepared. They had the addresses of town halls. They had addresses of Jewish shop owners. In a street in Marseille, all businesses owned by Jews were set on fire. Businesses run by Muslims weren’t”

The fact that Obama is freaking out to this extent about Omar is a sure sign that we’re directly over the target.
It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

They have a 300 ft Palestine flag hanging from the leaning tower of Piza and the mainstream media still can't figure out what these riots are really about. It's a mystery wrapped inside an enigma.

A United States senator is attempting to use governmental powers to coerce an American citizen into providing military aid to another country. Surely this is the fascism we’re always hearing about.

By the way @JessicaTarlov, I don't believe that you've ever had a conversation with @realdonaldtrump, and yet you seem to judge him harshly, no? I also have never met Ted Bundy but I can judge his actions appropriately. The idea that you and I must meet in order for me to judge your astounding imbecility is the epitome of your lack of critical thinking abilities. I watch you on @TheFive and I'm able to evaluate your positions. There is this thing called the prefrontal cortex that allows us to engage in this wondrous feat without having to meet one another. You did it daily on @thefive.
Replying to @GadSaad
Hi - this seems wildly harsh considering you’ve never so much as had a conversation with me. Guess the whole point is to rile people up so well done.

This is stunning a sitting U.S. senator is saying this out loud. She is quite explicitly advocating for prosecutions to scare young people away from politics. @ElissaSlotkin is truly a danger to democracy--a democracy she pretends she's protecting. This is a fascist tactic.
ON UCHICAGO CAMPUS: U.S. Senator from Michigan Elissa Slotkin hopes planned political prosecutions of republican leaders will scare young conservatives from getting involved in politics. @ElissaSlotkin

MOTHER OF HERO SPEAKS OUT 🙏🏼 Kaylub Giamanco’s mom just described the phone call she got moments after her son stopped the school shooter in Bend, Oregon. “He said, Mom, I just shot and kiIIed somebody.” She asked him to tell her about it. “A man went into my daughter’s school and shot kids. And I looked at him point blank and I shot and kiIIed him, Mom.” She told him he saved a lot of lives. His answer: “Mom, I couldn’t save them all.” He was driving home from lunch when he heard the shots. He pulled up onto the grass, grabbed his gun, and followed the gunman back into the school. He army-crawled through a window the shooter had already blasted out and ended the attack. Three kids and a teacher were already gone. His own daughters were safe. Now he’s struggling with the ones he couldn’t reach and asking himself what he could have done differently. This is what happens when a good man with a gun runs toward the sound of gunfire instead of waiting for someone else to show up. THAT is what stopped more of them from dying. Kaylub Giamanco is a hero.

I think cuz EVs are so ubiquitous now, people have forgotten just how dorky and dead on the vine they were before Elon Musk. He really dragged the entire auto sector kicking and screaming to where it is now. They say the most singular universal trait of wealthy successful entrepreneurs is persistence. They have a vision of the future, they commit to it for the long haul, and stick to it for as long as it takes. Whenever I see these old videos or clips from the early office days at SpaceX, I’m always impressed by Elon’s persistence. He’s kept his head down through decades of what must’ve felt like terminal pipe dreams, nonstop criticisms from even people he admired, like Neil Armstrong…and now he has flying cars and reusable rockets that rescue astronauts like Neil when they’re stranded in space. Persistence of vision. Superpower.
Elon showing Jay Leno the first production unit Tesla Roadster in 2008. Leno amazed by battery pack with 6,831 lithium-ion cells and gives this take on his first test drive: “The good thing with electricity is that you get full torque from 0 RPM. In a gas car, you have to bring the revs to 3 or 4 grand and pop the clutch. Most electric cars feel bottom heavy, but not this. It’s eerily quiet. It’s amazing. All you hear is the wind noise. I like that it’s a sports car, not some dorky little 4-door econo-box.” *** Full ep: youtu.be/jjZf9sgdDKc?si=Ulfq…

NYT: nothing. WSJ: nothing. The Atlantic: nothing. CNN: nothing. MSNBC: nothing. A $2 billion, 40-year Massachusetts courthouse lease goes to a congresswoman's husband who did 10 years in federal prison for drug trafficking and just weeks ago an 18-year-old was shot dead in the head in a house he owns, and the homicide still has no arrests... The entire national press has nothing to say. If this were a Republican, it would be wall-to-wall coverage every single day until the midterms.
Massachusetts Gov. Healey (D) awarded a $2 billion, 40-year lease for a new courthouse to Rep. Ayanna Pressley’s (D) husband, a convicted felon who spent 10 years in federal prison for drug trafficking. A couple of weeks ago, a girl was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in a home owned by Pressley’s husband.
