No success so far in using fusion to turn mercury into Bitcoin, thankfully.
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10. Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years. Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.

Looking forward to representing @artan_bio at the @spARKbyARK Innovation Showcase here in St Pete. ARTAN, with the help of @vitarnabio $vitarna token holders is going after unique biology that addresses all 12 Hallmarks of Aging versus the more singular approaches of others!

Can a single transfer RNA drive prostate cancer treatment resistance? A new @Nature study found that loss of one tRNA, tRNA1-Arg(UCU), pushes prostate cancer cells toward a neuroendocrine-like state and makes them resistant to androgen receptor-targeted therapies. Restoring it reversed this shift and restored drug sensitivity in experimental models. The mechanism involves SMARCC2, a SWI/SNF subunit important for maintaining AR signaling. Its mRNA is enriched in codons decoded by this tRNA, so when tRNA levels fall, SMARCC2 protein levels also decline. In patient samples, low tRNA levels were associated with earlier metastasis and shorter survival. No therapeutic delivery yet, but a striking link between codon biology, cancer cell identity, and treatment resistance.

Interesting talk from @ARTAN_bio! I was totally unfamiliar with stop codon emergence and possible Tx applications. Bold approach to an under-appreciated problem!
Packed house for the @ARTAN_bio talk tonight @ARDD_Meeting . I assume everyone wants to learn about Longevity Codon Therapy, $VITARNA, and fundraising on @BioProtocol with @vita_dao

Check out this thread from our @artan_bio CEO! He’ll be presenting at @ARDD_Meeting! Reach out to him or me to connect! Happy to make the intro! @aschwartzphd @vitarnabio @vita_dao @Molecule_sci $vitarna
Most aging research is trying to reset cells, clear them out, or swap the plasma. Those approaches matter, but they still leave one class of aging damage in place. #ARDD26

I must be among an extremely small group of people (n=1?) that have both 1) trained a frontier LLM and 2) designed and synthesized custom viruses in a lab with my own two hands. And I think that the takes on AI killing us all by creating dangerous viruses is total bogus.

This is a much longer topic for discussion. But there are 2 types of biotech entrepreneurs. Not saying which is good/bad. Many biotech "entrepreneurs" are management team for hires. They don't really source their own ideas, don't truly make judgement calls on the assets/ideas. And in many ways, they don't really take risks - as they start day 1 with a good market-rate salary. When they pitch a story, it was prepared for them by the VCs who found the asset. They are more akin to operating partners brought in by PE firms to run a company. Then there are founder-entrepreneurs in the sense that they come up with their own ideas/deal-flow. And have to sell the story to both VCs and the team they recruit. Take no salary (or defer salary) until a big round. And even then, take a below-market salary. This is a different skill set and is truly risk taking. On a risk adjusted NPV basis, the former is more positive. Many CFOs/CBOs get fabulously rich parachuting in 1-2 years before a clinical read-out. Even if it fails, their contract includes a generous 6-12 month severance. They then parachute to another VC NewCo - often before their severance runs out. Rinse and repeat. The latter is a tough slog. When a guy like @Mykalt45 succeeds, even if the deal size is not as big, it really is a testament to grit.
There’s an emerging group of scrappy, operator, doers, with chips on our shoulders who eschew the $65M at $10M pre way of financing and building companies. Wanting to build where everyone wins. If you’re a capital partner that likes that approach…the CrossBridge Bio playbook, then please reach out. CrossBridge started with $1.2M through a SAFE. From $15K-$500K checks. Ended up being 17x for them. It can be done!

Connecting the dots back to @artan_bio. Our drugs have the ability to suppress these other somatic mutations involved in aging. A real chance to move the needle of lifespan and healthspan! Grateful to the DeSci/crypto space for supporting this idea with ethereum:0x7b66e84be78772a3afaf5ba8c1993a1b5d05f9c2.
TP53 alterations remain a powerful risk signal in newly diagnosed DLBCL. Daniel Landsburg of @Penn reviewed functional status, VAF and genomic context—and why TP53-mutant disease warrants better targeted strategies. #DAVAHeme

My favorite paragraph from the EMA Q2 report that @DFoleyBOF and I are currently writing: The bottom line is that the job of the Fed Chairman is to gaslight the American public into believing that inflation is under control while inflating enough to keep the system from collapsing from the debt burden. It is a tough job, and it requires an intelligent, smooth and skilled liar. Each one comes with a different style: Greenspan the wizard maestro, Bernanke the academic genius, Yellen the benevolent grandmother, Powell the professional technocrat, and now Warsh the handsome used car salesman. Different wrappers, same package.

Also, not to talk stocks and I have no position in $VRTX, but Journavx is one the most amazing drugs I’ve ever been prescribed. Had surgery (was under so not light) and they prescribed me this drug. No need for T3 and other typical pain drugs. Once this gets widely adopted, it will be huge!

Really excited to keep building with @vitadao. My goal is simple: continue leveling up the #DeSci ecosystem by bringing more visibility into the space. My track record in traditional biotech and VC should help lower barriers to entry. Building biotech with crypto is real!
Welcoming Michael Torres, Ph.D. (@Mykalt45) as a Core Advisor to VitaDAO. From lab bench → clinic → a ~$300M Eli Lilly acquisition (CrossBridge Bio). Co-founder of ReCode. The scientist behind VitaRNA. Now helping build our crypto × biotech playbook. 💛 vitadao.com/blog/michael-tor…

Why is it ‘cancelled’ in the U.K. but ‘canceled’ in the U.S.? Because we gave them that L in 1776.
