They invited her to Berlin thinking she would praise them. Instead, she exposed their blood-soaked history. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie didn't hold back. She exposed the ultimate Western lie. They teach their kids to "help the poor Africans," but completely erase the fact that Belgium’s King Leopold turned the Congo into a personal slaughterhouse. Millions murdered. Hands chopped off for rubber. They don't teach the truth because the truth is a debt they can never repay. Watch this. Bookmark it. Teach your children who the real savages were.

Edo women are some of the most hardworking women I have ever come across in my life. My former landlady built two houses in Benin City from the proceeds of her farm. This is the case for most of the women I knew who had houses in Benin. There’s also the fact that a lot of new properties in places like Eyaen and By Pass are owned by folks who traveled abroad, which is mostly women. So to just reduce Edo women to people who only inherit property after the deaths of their husbands is insane. I mean, if you want to be a bigot at least be a smart one. Also, if you know Edo culture well, then you know that, most of the time, after the death of a man his house is passed down to his first son. So, when did the first son become the wife?

APC: 11 Years In Power, Yet Still Looking To The Past — Adamolekun Eight years of Buhari and three years of Tinubu make 11 years of APC rule, yet the party is still referring to people who were in power years ago. Campaigning in a state it lost three years ago, the conversation should be centred on what has changed, not blaming the opposition for how people feel today. Adamolekun Opeyemi Active Citizen

When ISIS were at the height of their violence around 2014/15, i personally know two guys from my area that went to syria to join them. Many Ebira boys joined that time, infact one of their senior recruiter was my senior brother friend in Futminna. DSS got him around 2016.

I keep coming back to this line from The Psychology of Money: "The ability to do what you want, when you want, with who you want, for as long as you want, is priceless. It is the highest dividend money pays."

The same Burkina Faso they said was too poor to survive just approved an $8.2 billion budget without the IMF. Four years ago, Burkina Faso was broke. Today, its budget is the largest in its history.

This account is gold. You usually only get this kinda info on Writers commentaries on a criterion DVDs.
In The Godfather, while Clemenza is teaching Michael how to use the gun he’ll kill Sollozzo with, he tells him that the murder will probably start a war. “These gotta happen every five years or so. Ten years… been ten years since the last one.” However, the film never explains what that previous war was or why it took place. But Mario Puzo’s original novel does - in great detail. And it’s essentially the missing chapter explaining how Vito Corleone went from being the neighbourhood Don of Little Italy to one of the most powerful Mafia bosses in all of America. By the end of Part II, Vito is a “man of respect” in his neighbourhood, and he leverages that reputation to further grow his olive oil business. He uses his “formidable powers of persuasion” to buy out his competitors and establish a monopoly on the olive oil business in New York City. He has warehouses, trucks, and a highly efficient distribution network. When Prohibition comes into law, Vito repurposes many of these assets into an incredibly lucrative bootlegging operation. During this period he restructures his organization into a formal crime family, with Genco as his consigliere, Clemenza as caporegime of the Bronx, Tessio controlling Brooklyn, and the men working under them as soldiers. He also builds an invaluable network of police and political contacts, which would serve him for years to come. However, when Prohibition comes to an end, Vito needs to pivot to another criminal enterprise to keep his organization afloat. He reaches out to Salvatore Maranzano, who controlled all gambling activity in Manhattan. Maranzano was based on the real mafia boss of the same name, one of the most powerful crime figures in New York City’s history. Vito proposes a partnership. He would offer his political connections to protect Maranzano’s businesses and help him expand into Brooklyn and the Bronx; in exchange, Vito would receive a share of the gambling profits. Maranzano “spurned the Corleone offer with contempt...” He took it as an insult, and Vito as a threat that needed to be stamped out. Maranzano had a much bigger, more powerful organization built through union-busting and extortion rackets, and strong ties to the most infamous gangster in the country, Al Capone in Chicago. “Maranzano’s refusal touched off the great war of 1933 which was to change the whole structure of the underworld in New York City.” (1/2)

Gah damn man… I wouldn’t wish this on my least favorite person in the world. No one should be stripped of their identity.
Damon Dash listed $4,350 in assets and $25.3 million in debt. Creditors just bought the rights to his life story for $550,000. He co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay-Z and Kareem "Biggs" Burke. In September 2025 he filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Florida. The petition put his debts at $25,303,049.47 to as many as 49 creditors. About $19.1 million of that was taxes. About $648,000 was domestic support for Rachel Roy and Cindy Morales. His assets: $100 in cash, a $500 cellphone, and two guns worth $750. In August 2024, his one-third share of Roc-A-Fella was auctioned to the New York Department of Taxation and Finance to cover tax debt. Then the trustee, Traci K. Stevenson, told the court he had not listed his life rights among his assets. She argued that a person's name, image, likeness and life story are transferable property. The court record: On October 1, 2026, those rights went to auction. Everlasting Films LLC won at $550,000. The opening stalking horse bid was $37,000. Backup bidder Doug Peters stands at $500,000 if the deal fails to close. The package: exclusive worldwide life rights, about 100 hours of video, photographs, memorabilia, and an unreleased documentary project. The money goes to his creditors. He gets none of it. A final approval hearing is set for October 27, 2026. In the video below, on an earlier Roc-A-Fella auction, Dame says: "This was my auction. This is my life." The case for the creditors: he filed with $25.3 million in debt and $4,350 in assets. The trustee said the life rights had clear value and had been left off the schedule. Chapter 7 sells assets to pay what is owed. The case for Dame: he spent years telling artists to own their masters and their story. The buyer now owns how he got here. Everything after the September 2025 filing still belongs to him. Who should own the story of a man who built Roc-A-Fella: the creditors he owes, or the man who lived it?
