And all this talk about midrange shots being bad, yet 27% 3PT shooters all over the world are encouraged to keep shooting!
We should be focusing on how to turn the 27% 3PT shooter into a 35% 3PT shooter so that open 3 is actually a good shot for the team
All this talk about mid-range jump shots make me laugh because it’s super simple…
If you have a player who shots it at a high clip, encourage them to take them.
If you have a player who doesn’t, don’t let him shoot them…
Layups are only good shots to someone who can finish.
Open threes are only good shots to someone who can make them.
Free throws are only effective if you can step up and knock them down.
Come on people.
Surely teams can make room for a shooting coach…

The correct advice/coaching to a struggling shooter is simply unknown in the basketball world.
This results in no coaching at all besides something along the lines of “you got this” “keep shooting” “be confident”
The shooter of course remains inconsistent
So not one person is gonna say anything as far as offer some advice to put the orange thing through the orange thing?
There are 4 people standing in the paint & at least one passer but no one has any words of encouragement or any form of accountable being suggested

Confidence isn’t what’s holding him back. It’s like a field goal kicker kicking a PAT vs a 60 yard FG. Obviously the PAT kicker gonna have more confidence. Dyson has terrible mechanics, so every shot feels like a 60 yard FG. Change to the correct mechanics, it’ll feel like a PAT
The world just doesn’t have shooting coaches.
In every neighborhood you can find a:
- baseball hitting coach
- golf swing coach
- speed & agility coach
We have tons of basketball trainers that don’t specialize in shooting… which results in this lack of shooters ⬇️⬇️
