Josh Frydenberg *again* in headlines over a “comeback”.
It’s (again) worth remembering that as the nation’s Treasurer he secretly deleted the key findings of a probe into corruption at the top of the nation’s corporate regulator.
Surely that excludes one from politics? (ICYMI);

In the horror of a Genocide this is a moment of hope. 15 of the children from the Gaza Nipper’s program got back in the surf this week. 30 of the other nippers can’t be found, many have been killed. How has the world made the decision to send so many bombs and so few lifesavers?

A company on the Central Coast is ripping out diesel engines, and replacing them with electric systems and batteries. And they're going global.

I'm reliably informed phone polling took place in Albanese's electorate of Grayndler a few weeks back
Which is fascinating, bc there isn't an election on at the moment, nor is there one in the foreseeable future
I wonder who suddenly feels the need to test the voting intentions of the people of Grayndler?

Shoebridge says the committee that rejected Thorpe’s bill was a “stitch up” dominated by Labor who wrote the report, & that Greens support the bill to end shackling.
What the hell is wrong with you @AlboMP - I know you’re a misogynist, but shackling prisoners during childbirth is sickeningly depraved.
What do you gain by this?
Did the Zionists order it?

It's perhaps apocryphal, maybe not said by Keynes, but we need to have a deep think about this.

When will Australia start to talk about #Degrowth4Regrowth ?
@SteadyStateEcon @swrighteconomy @AmyRemeikis
“Degrowth is not recession. Recession is chaotic, cruel, and unplanned. It is a heart attack. Degrowth is surgery. It is the deliberate, democratic, and just contraction of the energy- and material-intensive sectors that are actively murdering our life-support systems. Degrowth means flying less, building less concrete, producing less plastic junk, and yes, accepting that a country’s health is not measured by its quarterly GDP report. It means working fewer hours, sharing more, repairing instead of replacing, and valuing care, art, and community over cargo ships full of sneakers.”
(It is Hard to say degrowth when your Job is to say GDP to keep up the Illusion we can pay back our debt - be it ecological, climate or extraction - the Moment we accept decline is irreversibel the ponzi ends…)

Labor’s neglect of the Greens vote might bite them. Hard.
“If the Greens deny preferences to Labor on a significant scale, many Labor MPs will be in difficulty. With the growing collapse of votes for the major parties, Green preferences for Labor will be more important than ever.”

I’ve covered many floods in Chile and they don’t normally get much attention. This one has.
Why? It's an affluent area.
Historically, severe mudslides in Santiago primarily strike more vulnerable, lower-income precordillera communes (like Macul or Peñalolén).
Because San Carlos de Apoquindo is a modern, premium development, its heavily engineered drainage networks and street layouts have historically insulated it from mountain runoffs.

Global surface temperatures can be quite volatile, but it's worth noting that October 6, 7 and 8 each set a new record for the highest global temperature on that day since records began in 1940.
If you like records, there will a lot more record hottest days to come! Stay tuned!
