These two first pitches perfectly symbolize the difference in American crisis response, 20 years apart.

If you want the #OKState program on the rise again, know that 50+ recruits will be in town tomorrow. Watching the tailgate scene, the atmosphere, the fan support after a rough game, the noise… Everything. "You do one thing when you wake up tomorrow… Bring it.” #GoPokes

I’ve never had an issue paying players- above or under the table. It is what is. But you can’t bet on your own sport & team as a CFB player. That sets a very dangerous precedent. No other way to say it. I’m not saying he can’t have an NFL career but there has to be some meaningful punishment here.

There really aren’t any rules. You just go to court. If it fails, go to court again until a judge says you’re all set. Want a 7th year? Sure Broke rules? Ahhhh, it’s fine. There AREN’T any rules.

ICYMI, sports law Professor Mike McCann has proposed a bold, innovative alternative to fix college sports without Congress intervening. It’s called “STOP BREAKING THE RULES YOU AGREED TO FOLLOW.” Brilliant. 👏🏼 Why didn’t anyone think of that sooner? @McCannSportsLaw
As the SCORE Act is punted, I propose a different solution for college athletics: How about colleges follow NCAA rules? No fake NIL. No incentivizing lawsuits to extend eligibility for many years. No bill in Congress can cure the underlying problem. sportico.com/law/analysis/20….
